How to Permanently Attach Exhaust Flex Pipe No Clamps

Watch this video to learn how to install a universal flex pipe, without using clamps. 1A Auto will show you how with a 2007 Audi A4.

  1. step 1 : Removing the Flex Pipe
    • Measure your replacement flex pipe
    • Mark the measurements on the pipe
    • Cut just behind the flange on the flex pipe without cutting into the head shield or transmission
    • Cut the other end of the pipe
    • Measure the inside diameter
    • Measure the outside diameter
    • Loosen the clamp with a 17mm wrench
    • Remove the pipe
    • Use a rust disk or wire wheel to give a clean surface on the pipes for welding
  2. step 2 : Installing the Flex Pipe
    • Install the flex pipe
    • Weld the pipe into place and seal it
    • Repeat the process for the other side
    • Adjust the clamp accordingly
    • Tighten the 17mm nuts to the clamp

These are generic parts and are listed by size. If your exhaust pipe is 1.75" in diameter and the flex pipe you are replacing is 12" long then this part will work for you. Thanks!
