I had been having overheating issues in my Ford Five Hundred. While researching the issue, I discovered that many aftermarket water pumps don't use cam bolts. They're keyed with these flimsy tabs that often wear through and can even damage the end of the cam. I knew that my water pump wasn't the original, and sure enough, this is what happened to my vehicle! I searched for a replacement with a cam bolt design and found this one on 1A Auto. My order shipped quickly, installed flawlessly, and my overheating problem was solved! And the price can't be beat!

Bolted in place just like stock replacement, it has the center bolt to connect to cam has worked well. Hardest part is filling the coolant, make sure to take the bleed plug out at the top of the thermostat housing to fill top half.

Everything was right

I purchase a water pump for my 2005 Ford Freestyle. The part was exact it was not difficult to install. The price was reasonable. I found it $10 cheaper at another site but that site had a lot of negative reviews. A1 had good reviews and they stood up to their reviews. The part came in the time that was stated. Everything went fine; I will order from them again.

Better Than All the Rest!

This water pump is designed like the original. Most of the new water pumps now do not use a cam bolt, this one from 1AAuto does. It comes with the complete assembly and it does come with a new cam bolt. This way is so much better. Thank you 1AAuto!

Just like OEM!

Like many others out there, I replaced my original water pump on my Ford 500 with one of the newly designed aftermarket pumps that have two large tabs that engage the slots on the end of the cam shaft. The OEM version used a bolt that screwed into the cam. After less than a year the pump failed after the tabs opened up the slots in the cam shaft. The slots on the cam were obviously never designed for that task! I am so glad I found this pump from 1A Auto after reading some car repair forums. Its made to mount to the cam shaft with a bolt just like the OEM pump. It went on easily and I was back up and running. Great pump at a very reasonable price.

Garbage. The first pump they sent leaked. Ended up purchasing a new one from a local store because I couldn't wait 2 more weeks for them to ship another one.

I put two stars becuase they did send me a replacement in a timely manner. Only problems is that they both failed. 1st one within 3 days. The 2nd within a week. It's a common issue with these aftermarket pumps. Do not even try the local auto parts style. You will regret it. Get OEM MotorCraft.

This seems like a high-quality product. The materials and machining both seem excellent. The pump installed without any issue and, two weeks after installing, I do not see any leaks or hear any strange sounds. The engine is staying cool under normal driving conditions. I would recommend this as a high-quality replacement part.

It fixed my problem because it has hole and comes with the bolt that can be bolted to the camshaft. Most of the pumps on line are not the bolt on type so that if the cam shaft is damaged because of Fords bad design they won't work well. Also it seem to be a good quality pump and the price is great. They want more than $300 from the dealer. Time will tell but I believe it was the best option available.

Great product! Been on for 2 years now, as soon as I seen the FordMakuloco video on YouTube about the other type of water pump that slides into the cam inside of bolting into it, I immediately started looking for OEM, or OEM type. This worked fine and would buy again, easiest water pump to change

Wasted time and money

It was super easy to install to torque down to spec. However the car continued to have heating issues. So since then I have bought a new radiator from you all. It kept overheating not while it was idling just while it was driving so I took it to Ford. They have informed me that the water pump is not functioning properly at speed so that wasted my money.

Yes, it DOES come with the cam bolt. This is the reason why I purchased this water pump through 1AAuto. All the other ones I researched used a new method with notches for the cam with no bolt. The cam bolt is the best way to go, just like the original. Thank you 1AAuto!

mine did not, also make sure you have checked your aux. electric water pump that is installed on some vehicles that this pump goes into. You will not be able to burp the system unless the aux pump is fully functional.
