Customer Q&A
Ask a question to 1A Auto customers who purchased the product
Are these auto dimming?
Randall Q June 5, 2017
No, these mirrors are not auto-dimming and we do not carry any for this application.
Tim K June 5, 2017
My mirors are not. Not sure if that is an option
M I August 24, 2017
No
R O November 1, 2017
No they are not Auto dimming

R O August 28, 2019
Nope, wish they were
E M December 18, 2019
I have a 2014 ram sport with power folding mirrors with turn signal but no puddle light which would be the most appropriate tow mirrors? Hoping to maintain the power folding feature. Also do I need the support brackets for these?
John P June 6, 2017
how much further out do these go than sport mirrors?
Maj armstrong M July 12, 2017
Once they are flipped up, it gives an extra 3 - 5 inches of view.
Alex P July 13, 2017
Do these mirrors need an additional support bracket for a 2014 2500 ram with sport mirrors?
Adam C October 30, 2017
These mirrors do nor require an additional support bracket for installation!
Tim K November 1, 2017
No they are not required, however I did installed the brackets as a precaution as I did not want to take the chance of them shaking. I had sport mirrors on a 2017 2500
B R November 1, 2017
The manufacturer suggests they be installed with support brackets. My truck already had the support brackets when I installed the new mirrors so I did not have to purchase new ones.
C R November 1, 2017
According to the local ram dealer here in town, no. I haven’t had any problems with them with no support brackets.
Tom F November 1, 2017
Nope. I put mine on per instructions without a support bracket and pulled my trailer from coast to coast. Mirrors are just as tight as the day I bolted them on.
C S November 1, 2017
I installed them on my 1500 just because thats how the factory does it.
R O November 1, 2017
The support bracket is recommended due to the additional weight of the mirrors.
M W November 2, 2017
I have a 2016 megacab and purchased these mirrors! Love them! I did also purchase the support brackets from the ram dealership! These mirrors are heavy and figurered it wouldnt hurt to install the support brackets!
Tadashi S November 3, 2017
They are not required for installation. However I would recommend them for added support as the mirror is heavier and the weight sits further away from the truck. The brackets are 20$ from your local dealer. The Chrysler engineers believed it was needed so they added it from the factory I would suggest doing the same.
D L January 9, 2018
They do not require it, but they are surprisingly heavy, I used the support and Im glad I did.
S T June 23, 2018
No
D Y June 20, 2019
No
Danielle W June 21, 2019
Mine did not.
T S July 3, 2019
Mine didn’t. But I had to install rivnuts
R O August 28, 2019
No but I bought some off eBay and installed with just to be safe
E M December 18, 2019
Don’t you need a reinforced bracket for the mirror?
Jose A H February 4, 2019
No you dont. I installed it on mine without it and have never had any issues
M A February 4, 2019
Highly recommend buying the mopar brackets for the mirrors as they are pretty heavy. I installed the brackets when i installed my tow mirrors and have no vibration issues at all. Overall happy with them.
Avery W February 4, 2019
It’s better if you do but will work if not. Just not as strong. I happen to have the bracket from previous mirrors.
C R February 4, 2019
Nope. I put mine on two years ago and they are still nice and tight.
C S February 4, 2019
No, it bolts right up.
S T February 4, 2019
With these tow mirrors the brackets are not mandatory but you can always install them if you need to either way is okay.
Corey M February 4, 2019
The OE has the reinforcement bracket for these mirrors. I mounted these mirrors without those brackets and I have had no problems. If you do chose to buy the brackets, make sure you get the hardware with them. They are nutserts and you will need a tool to install the hardware. You cannot just bolt the brackets on if your truck did not come with them.
E V February 4, 2019
No just on the pre 09’s
Tom F February 4, 2019
Yes, it is recommended to install the bracket due to the extra weight of the mirror.
M W February 5, 2019
No
R I February 13, 2019
Does the glass mirror vibrate? Bought another brand and the glass vibrated and made the images blurry. Tia
Kane P April 18, 2019
This mirror should not shake at all and should fit to the same OE specifications as the original.
Emma F April 18, 2019
I have a ram 2500 without the power folding option how does the power folding option work in this truck ?
Mike H May 7, 2019
These mirrors are correct for models that already have power folding on their OE mirrors.
Andra M May 7, 2019
You would need to confirm that your current door modules can use that function or buy new ones that can. You would then have to buy a window control switch that has the power fold button. Then finally you would have to get your BCM flashed to use the power fold function.
Bryan H August 12, 2019
I have 2015 ram outdoorsman , and have tint option from my touch screen will these work with that? Or do you have mirror that have this feature?
Nathan Z July 11, 2019
We advise ordering mirrors with the exact same options as your original, as these will not function properly if your vehicle does not have the same capabilities. Our mirrors are intended to be a direct plug and play replacement for the exact options listed.
Emma F July 11, 2019
can you adjust the mirror with the power buttons while the mirror is in the "up/tow" position?
Jordan B August 28, 2019
yes you can
R O August 28, 2019
Yes I am able to adjust the mirrors with the power buttons while they are in the tow position. However, the power buttons "hold" their positions. That means when the mirrors are in the tow position the left-right buttons move the mirror up-down. The up-down buttons move the mirror left-right. The mirrors still work great the adjustment takes getting used to.
Joseph K August 28, 2019
the large mirror is power adjustable in both positions. The small mirror is not power adjustable at all. You can also power fold the mirrors. You have to manually extend them for towing. Hope this helped.
Chad1029 C August 28, 2019
Yes
C F August 28, 2019
Yes they adjust in the tow position
Chris P August 28, 2019
Yes the power adjust still works. However, the adjustment directions do not rotate with the mirror so it just takes some getting used to.
W U August 28, 2019
Yes! Absolutely.
Rachael L August 28, 2019
Yes you can
R O August 28, 2019
Yes you can. You need to have your truck programmed to have tow mirrors to get them to adjust properly though, otherwise they “think they’re always down and the movements become rotated 90*.
Alexander N August 28, 2019
Yes, the mirror glass will adjust with power in the the up/tow position. Thank you for the inquiry!
Andra M August 28, 2019
If I just want to fold the mirrors in to get in the garage (dont need them to fold when I park), do I still need the dealer to flash the computer? I dont have the proper window switch but I plan to buy one. Mine is a 2017 Ram 1500 Eco-Diesel.
CRAIG J November 9, 2019
Mirrors should be replaced in an "option for option" fashion. If your mirrors do not have the same options that are listed in our listing, there is a possibility that this mirror may not function properly. You may need to have the dealer flash your computer for the parts to be able to work properly. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Emma F November 10, 2019
Have a 2014 with all these options except I have auto dimming. I don’t mind not having auto dimming, these should still be plug and play?
Patrick B December 6, 2019
They were for my 2015 2500. I lost the auto dim feature but everything else works great.
Steven D December 6, 2019
Thank you for your inquiry, Patrick! As long as you have all the other features listed these will fit and function just fine. You will only lose the auto dimming feature.
Tim K December 6, 2019
I have power folding standard mirrors with the turn signal and puddle lights, will this be a direct bolt on replacement?
Kyle S December 24, 2019
It was on my 2018 1500. All functions worked like factory mirrors
Charles P December 24, 2019
They are direct bolt on....BUT just know that these are going to be heavier than the standard mirrors, so if your Ram truck didnt come with tow mirrors you should get the reinforcement brackets, riv-nuts, and hex screws.
C H December 24, 2019
Yes, make sure every option is the same besides auto dim
E M December 24, 2019
it was for me, so YES & they work great.
P O December 24, 2019
Thank you for your inquiry! Mirrors should be replaced in an "option for option" fashion. If your mirrors do not have the same options that are listed in our listing, there is a possibility that this mirror may not function properly. Please let us know if you have any other questions, thank you!
Jessica D December 26, 2019
As long as you order the tow mirrors with the same functions as factor mirrors everything will work. Yes just unplug 2 wire harness’s and 3 bolts, not including the snap pins and one or two screws on the door.
Chad Z December 27, 2019
Customer service has been great with them as well!
Chad Z December 27, 2019
Yes it bolted right up, I also already had standard power mirrors and wasnt able to see around 5th wheel trailer. Put them on 2013 2500
Daniel F January 4, 2020
Okay I have a 2019 ram 2500 that has standard mirrors that are power and heated. But dealership says my truck model isn’t compatible with tow mirrors... will these work?
Michael L January 3, 2020
Thank you for your inquiry! This set of mirrors will not be compatible with your 2019 Ram 2500. Currently, we do not carry this part for your vehicle. Were always updating our inventory so please check back soon! If you have any other questions, let us know.
Jessica D January 3, 2020
Hello, I just installed these tow mirrors on a 2015 Ram. Install was easy the question I have is the passenger side is at a different angle then the drivers side. It sits closure to the truck. Is this normal?
Adam M March 9, 2020
Thank you for your inquiry. This is normal, and will look a bit more emphasized with tow mirrors as they are longer than the original mirrors. This ensures that both mirrors allow the driver to see the road clearly. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Anthony C March 9, 2020
I have a 2017 Laramie, with chrome option. Do you have that option for the miror finish?
Dal F March 25, 2020
Thank you for the inquiry. We currently do not have a chrome option for the features that the mirrors that were provided have. The only ones that will be chrome will have the memory feature or mirrors that are not power fold.
