Bought mirror not being sure that it would fit. My truck was a 2018, but the 2017 looked exactly alike. Got in the time frame stated. Went to install and it fit like a glove.

Replacement of side view mirror

F150 2016 passenger side view was cracked and needed replacing. Part was sent promptly part I was not sure where the two small thin metal clips were supposed to be installed. I popped the old misrepresent out and snapped in the new one. Everything works fine and fits fine just wondering what the two thin metal pieces are for? The video didnt show where they go either. Do I need them to keep the mirror intact? Thanks.

Clipped a Guardrail

I drive a Ford F-150 and live in a small riverside town in Illinois that has a narrow two lane bridge crossing. I've crossed this bridge a thousand times if I've crossed it once. Long story short, I was was cruising over the bridge one day and apparently lost my focus for a split second crossing the bridge and heard a loud "crack" that startled me. I looked at my right side mirror and it had folded in and the reflective mirror was missing. My first thought was, oh s--t, how much is this going to cost, thinking a couple of hundred bucks at least. After getting to the other side of the bridge I pulled over to inspect the mirror for damage and figured I would have to replace the whole assembly. After doing some searching online I found this part and ordered it to repair my vehicle, not sure if this would be a fix or not. To my surprise it arrived within a few days and when I went to install it, it popped back in in less than a minute. Whew, that could have been a lot worse. Moral of the

Perfect fit

This glass mirror replacement was a perfect replacement on my 2016 F150. Before I ordered the mirror, I contacted the local dealership and found the mirror almost $150 and not available for at least a week. I checked online and found 1A auto parts. Before I ordered the mirror, I watched the 1A videos about how to install the mirror. Within a few days, the mirror was delivered to my house. The installation took 10 minutes. This only fit original side mirrors . It happens that I had ours replaced so it would not mount as the inner ring was a lot smaller

I really don't like how flimsy cars and trucks are made today, but I am glad that the industry has adapted to supplying the parts needed when needed. My part was an exact match. When I came out to find someone had broken the mirror, I was pleasantly surprise to find this company online to learn you supplied not only the broken mirror but the cap and I didn't have to buy the complete unit. Upon arrival, it took 10 minutes to replace the mirror and the cap. Excellent.
