Not properly manufactured quick connects

Something is wrong with these quick connect ends, I had to disassemble them in, slide the clip on the other line and then push (one with vice grips and a hammer to assist) to get them to go on. Awful, but I didn't have time to return. They at-least don't leak now, so there is that
