How to drain and refill your brake fluid on 2008 Cadillac CTS

  1. step 1 :Opening the Hood
    • Locate the hood release latch
    • Pull the hood release latch
    • Release the secondary/safety latch, under the hood
  2. step 2 :Checking the Fluid
    • Locate the reservoir
    • Open the cap
    • Visually check the level
    • Add fluid if necessary

Open the hood, pull the release, it's down here underneath. Release the secondary, the safety latch. It's over here. Squeeze it up. It's got hood struts.

Brake fluid reservoir is located here. The maximum level you can see on the top, the minimum level is just below the crease, or where the seam is here, so you really can't see it. If your fluid is not up to this max level, its anywhere below here, you'll have to add some brake fluid. It does say on the cap what type to use: DOT 3. Just simply unscrew it, take it off, add the appropriate amount of brake fluid you need. This one is right at the max. It's a little bit dirty, but it is full. When you're done, you can put the cap back on and close it. That's how you check the brake fluid
