In this video we're going to show you how to correctly jump start a car or truck with jumper cables. In order to do this, you're going need the car that's got a good battery and of course here's the car that needs to be jumped. You do this in a very specific order. You want to put the positive jumper cable on the dead battery. Go over to your car with the good battery and put on your positive cable here. Then go with your negative cable on your good battery. Then take your negative cable for the bad battery and apply it to a ground, on the body of the vehicle or the engine, something that's going to be grounded other than the battery terminal. At that point you're going to want to start the car with the good battery. Rev it up a little bit, let it run for a few minutes then go ahead and give it a crank on the dead battery side.

We got the car with the good battery running. Paul's going to get in and rev it up to about 2,500 RPM. We're going to let it sit like that for 10 or 15 seconds. I'm going to go into the car with the faulty battery and crank it over. Now, I'm going to go ahead and crank over this car. We got the car running. We're going to reverse the process with the jumper cables: negative, positive, and positive.
