Rack and Pinion for 2005 VW Beetle

The first part was not correct. The shaft did not align correctly with the Rack so my Steering wheel was out of line. The service though was well done. First part shipped on time and a new replacement part has been sent. My wish is that 1A would also cover my $115 at the garage as they tried to figure out what I did wrong which was nothing. Just the part was bad. I know you can get bad parts but this change is not costing me added time and money. If 1A would like to come and install the new rack that is coming and align my car (Since I have already completed this work once) then that would be the ultimate in service.

What type of power steering fluid needs to be used with this product?

OEM power steering fluid is highly recommended for this. Try your local VW parts department for the proper fluid needed.

The fluid you can use other than VW power steering fluid is CHF 11S Hydraulic System Fluid. Do not mix power steering fluids it can blow the VW seals. The fluid is a synthic fluid that VW uses. it cost about $29.00 at AutoZone $22.00 on Amazon. Make sure you get power steering fluid the one the white cap, Not red cap
