Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the front grille on this 2006 Nissan Murano, same as any '03 to '07. The only tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver.
You want to remove a series of pins. There's four: one, two, there should be one there, three, and four. Four hold down this panel. These are kind of a little screw type. You can try using a Phillips screw, and going counter-clockwise to try and create a little separation. That doesn't always work. So then just use a small flat blade. Pull the centers out, then pull the clips out. The other style clip, the center pops up and the clip pulls out. You want to remove one, two, three here, and then there's a couple more underneath these panels. We're going to speed it up here as we take the clips out of those two panels and then remove them. You want to pull the clips out first. If you pull the middles out and then you pull up on the panel, sometimes you can flip the clips up and lose them in the engine compartment. Then after that, remove all the clips from the top of the grill, from under the air intake, and then the top of the grille. So, now, if you look in here, you can see a tab right down here. What I find it helpful to do is kind of reach in and put your finger underneath that tab, push up to release while you're pulling the grill. Reach in, pull on those tabs, and reach in further, grab the second tab, and pull it out. Eventually the grille does pop right off.
You're going to want to switch your Nissan emblem over. So, there's two Phillips screws in the back. The emblem comes off. Now, put the emblem back on. Fast forward here as we put the emblem back in place, and put in the Phillips screws and tighten them up. You want them firm, but don't overtighten them.
Here we're going to fast forward again, putting the clips back in the top of that grill. Remember the ones that go on the top of the grille have kind of a plain head, and then the ones that hold the panels on above the grille have the smaller style with the Phillips head pin for the center. Put those all on, and then you should be all set.
