Brought to you by 1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the license plate light, both the bulb and the light itself on the 2002 GMC Sierra, this is the same for pretty much any Sierra, Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon and Suburban of this generation.
To replace the license plate lights, if you're just looking to change your bulb, you reach back in here, you can feel the back of it and you twist the connector counterclockwise, now you can see here's the bulb right here. The bulb pulls out and pushes back into replace it. A lot of times you'll step on here or kind of miss the trailer when you're backing up and wipe out these lights.
You can either use a screwdriver or your hands. You push the light back and pull it out. You can see just a little clip on this end and it comes out. At 1A Auto, we sell the new ones. Ours comes in chrome, so maybe get a pair if you wanted to match. Push it in, then just give it a quick nudge with the heel of your hand. Just turn back up in there, get it to go in. Twist a little clockwise and you are all set.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the bulb as well as replace the entire plate light assembly on this 2002 Chevy Suburban. It's the same part and similar process on the Suburbans from 2000 to 2006. We'll show you on the passenger's side, but the driver's side is the same procedure. The items you'll need include a new plate light from 1AAuto.com and a flat blade screwdriver.
On the back of your plate light you can just twist out your socket counterclockwise. Then you just pull the bulb out, push your new bulb in, and then you can twist the socket back into place. If you want to replace the entire assembly, just push in the tab on the side with the flat blade screwdriver and apply pressure while pulling it from the other side and it will pop free.
On the left is the old plate light; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same. Take your new plate light and push it into place, then twist your socket clockwise into place, and you're all set.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. Today, I'm going to show you have to remove the plate light housing on this 2008 Chevy Silverado work truck. If you need parts for your vehicle click the link in the description and head over to 1aauto.com.
To take the plate light bulb out, we can grab from underneath the vehicle, underneath the bumper. You don't have to raise the vehicle, you can just grab from underneath. We just raised the vehicle to show you better.
The socket is right here. Just grab the socket, and you're going to twist it to the left. I'll just twisted to the left a little bit, and then pull it out. Then you can use a straight blade screwdriver, or your fingers and just push right here and pop the housing out. There's a little clip that goes on this side, and then it clicks in on that side, and there's the housing.
To reinstall this lens, we're just going to take this little clip. It's going to slide in the first. Then we'll push it in and lock it in place. Underneath here take this light socket, slide it into position, and then twist it to the right.
Thanks for watching. Visit us at 1aauto.com for quality auto parts, fast and free shipping, and the best customer service in the industry.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the license plate light, both the bulb and the lens on this 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500. It's the same process on a large variety of GM trucks from 2001 to 2012. You won't need any tools for this job.
Here is your license plate light. Go up behind it, and when you reach up behind it you see there's a little tab there. Reach up and push that tab in and pop the light out. You can just pull it right out.
To change the bulb, twist the socket, pull the bulb out, push the new one in, and then twist it back in. If you do need a new lens you can see 1A Auto has exact matches, and it's exactly the same.
Twist the socket back in, push the parking light right back into place, and you're all set.
