Hi, everyone. I'm Don from 1AAuto.com. In this series of videos we're going to be focusing on vehicle diagnostics and maintenance tips. We hope that you find it helpful and when you need parts for your car or truck, think of 1AAto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to repair a rear defogger tab that might have come off over the course of time on your defrost grid. In order to do this, you're going to need a kit. What it does is it has an activator and a cleaner, and it's also got electrically conductive epoxy resin. You can't just glue it back on. You need something that's going to be able to carry a current, so let's get started.
So with this particular kit that I've got, it's got the cleaner and activator. What I'm going to do is spread it apart. You want to leave the towel in the wrapper here, and you're going to go and clean the tabs, and then clean the tabs here. Then you're going to let that sit for about five minutes.
We've got our electrically conductive epoxy here. We want to make sure that it's all mixed up. Go ahead and open it. Then I'm going to liberally apply it to both the window and the tab. Go ahead and hold it in place for one minute.
It's on there nice and tight, but we're going to give it 24 hours before we try the defroster.
