How to Remove a Seized Wheel - Lug Nuts Are Off But Wheel Is Stuck

If the wheel is stuck after you removed the lug nuts, this video will show you a few options for what you can do to remove it

  1. step 1 :Removing a Seized Wheel
    • Thread on one lug nut to hold the wheel in place
    • Pry the wheel out from behind with a pry bar
    • Alternatively, strike the tire from behind with a hammer
    • Be careful not to strike the wheel itself with the hammer
    • Twist off the placeholder lug nut
    • Remove the wheel and tire

If you've gotten all the lug nuts or lug bolts out of the wheel and it won't come off, what you want to do is just thread one of the lugs back in a few turns so it will hold the wheel when it comes free. You can either use a large crowbar and pry or you can use a hammer and hit the tire. If you use a hammer, be careful not to hit the wheel. You just want to hit the tire then remove your lug and remove your wheel and tire.
