Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove a front door panel on this 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan. It has standard power windows. The only tool you're going to need is a Phillips screwdriver.
Start by opening up the door, and there are three Phillips screws to remove: one in the door pull there, one behind the door handle, and then one down at the bottom. I'll just fast-forward. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove those three screws. Now you want to feel around the door for the clips, and you'll pull firmly out and release the clips all the way around. Mine actually came off pretty easy because so many of them we're already broken. You lift the door panel up and pull it out. There's a white clip that holds the rod on. Just use your screwdriver to push that off the rod. Then flip it around and pull the rod down and out. Then there are three harnesses. The first one has a tab that you pull down on and release it. It actually has a tab that you pry out a little bit. I'm prying it out with my fingernails. Then the two that hook into the switches just have a tab on the side. Push the tab with your finger and pull them down. The tab is actually towards the front of the vehicle. Now the door panel is off.
Reinstall is a reverse of the procedure. You want to connect the harnesses. The harnesses are color coded the black one goes into the black switch, the gray one goes into the gray switch. Then the smaller one is the door lock switch. Then you press them up in until they click and lock into place. Then put the rod back up in place. Flip the clip around and on. Then lift the door panel up. Get that door lock through. Lift the panel up onto the window ledge, and there is a slot the top of the panel goes down into and locks into place. Then you just have to look in behind and lineup the clips. There are two larger lineup pegs, but what happened on this one is that the top clip actually just got a little bit out of line. It's holding the door panel out. As I work my way up there, notice it, get that top clip to go in correctly, and then I can go all the way around with the other clips. Then once you get them in, and you're confident they're going in correctly, just give a nice fist tap right around where each one of the clips is to lock it in place. Replace the three screws: one at the bottom, the one in the door pull, and the one behind the door handle.
