Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video we're going to show you how to remove the front door panel on this 2006 Malibu, the same as most 2004 to 2008 Malibus. The only tools you'll need are a T25 Torx driver, a flat blade screwdriver and either a door panel clip tool or a household putty knife will work.

First, remove the little panel right here. Remove the T25 Torx screws. Speed it up as we remove those two screws. Next, remove your plate around your door handle, pry down and out here. Up in this corner you want to try to push. I'm working my fingers in behind here, and then, pushing the door handle up here and then up here.

You can see there's a little tab here, here, here and here. Press on the tab right here to disconnect your lock switch. For your power window switch, carefully go up underneath the front here and push in there and try to pry the switch this way, and pull it up and to the front. On these switches there's a tab in behind here; release that. The tab here, squeeze and release. The tab right there usually you just push it with a screwdriver and pull it off.

On the back of the door, there's a fastener. There are actually two of them. I'm missing one on this car. Push the center right in through and then you can pry them out. Now, around the perimeter, there's a series of pins. A door panel clip tool is the right tool. You can also a household putty knife. You basically put it in and work your way around and pry out on the panel. Pop the pins free. That which just fell out is a clip that goes on your power window switch. Push it back in like that. As you pry out, disconnect it. Here's your door panel off.

Re-install our door panel pretty easy. Make sure you plug in your trunk button. Lift this panel up and out of the way. Make sure all your connectors come up through here. Lift it up into place. Lift it up over the lock button, which comes through here. Push it on the shelf there. Make sure the pins go in. This little pins in the back you want to push them back through, it's going to pop out. Push them in and then flush the lock. Put your two screws here. Again, speed up here as we put in those two T25 Torx screws. This you usually push down in. Make sure your wire is toward the back and down in and on. This goes there. Make sure that you plug your power lock back in. Push that back on. Plug here and your power window harness. Make sure when you put this back in you slide it back there first, then clip the sides and top on.
