How to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken or bent door striker on 96 GMC Sierra K1500 pickup truck.

step 1 :Removing the Striker
- Remove the striker with a T50 Torx
- Remove the cubby behind the door

step 2 :Installing the Striker
- Insert the striker into place while holding the nut from the inside
- Tighten the striker with a T50 Torx driver

Open your door. Use a T50 Torx and a ratchet to remove the striker from the cab. If the nut plate for the back of your striker fell into the door like ours did, you can simply remove this cubby panel.
Reach into the door, and install your new striker. Holding the nut from the inside, you can install your new striker. Remember to tighten it down with your T50 Torx driver. Double check that your door still closes properly, and you're good to go.
