In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the hood support struts. This is a 2008 Dodge Ram, but these struts and the procedure to replace them is the same for many vehicles. The only tool you'll need is a small flat-blade screwdriver, and something or someone to help you hold up the hood.

Place your strut. Have somebody hold up the hood. Use the small screwdriver and pry out. Pull it off on the bottom. Pry out on the top. Pull it off up there.

Your new one, make sure the clips are in place. Snap it right on. Make sure it's secure. Repeat that for the other side. We always recommend that you replace them in pairs.
