In this video we'll be replacing the upper radiator hose on this 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix. It's a pretty easy task. All you need is a pair of pliers. You will need a 13-mm wrench to remove a brace and some extra radiator fluid that's appropriate for your car. I'll remove this brace here. Three 13-mm bolts. I'm going to make quick work of it here with my impact wrench. Then also remove your coolant bottle line here. Pretty easy to see here now. You've got a clamp here. Also a clamp right down here. You can drain your coolant system if you want or I just put a catch pan underneath. Use a regular pair of pliers in there. Squeeze and pull off. The hose just kind of sticks on there. So you just got to pull pretty good. Same thing over here. Hang onto the clamp. If you get a twist, that's always good. Have a little bit of fluid come out. Bolt clamps off.

Use a little rag to wipe out this hose, or this fitting. Stick it in there a little bit. Use this wire brush to knock off some of that corrosion. You can see our new hose goes in like that. You want to put these clamps on so you can get to them as easily as possible. I'll put this one just like that. Take this one, put it on like that. Grab it with my pliers, work it back some, get the hose on. Take this one, work it back, put the hose on. Grab the clamp with my pliers, squeeze it, work it down and on. Go down a little bit further here. Same thing with here, put the pliers on, squeeze it, make sure that hose is on all the way. Work the clamp so it goes on a little more. Put this back. Now you want to refill with the proper antifreeze. Then you'll want to put your brace back on, the three 13-mm bolts. Tighten that all up, then you should be all set. Just make sure you check your antifreeze a couple times when you first start driving the car.
