In this video we're going to be working with our 2008 Chevy Equinox. We're going to show you how to remove and replace the battery inside of your vehicle's key fob which could be the reason why you're having a hard time locking and unlocking your doors from the key remote. If you like this video, please click subscribe, we have a ton more information on this and many other vehicles, and if you need parts for your car you can follow the link down in the description over to 1AAuto.com. Here are the items you'll need for this repair.
In order to replace the battery on your key fob, you'll need to take it off of your keyring. Using the small flat-blade screwdriver, the bottom edge here, you just gently pry apart, it comes apart pretty easy. Open it face down like this because that holds all of your button skins and everything in place, so leave this side facing down as not to damage any of that. Notice that the beveled edge of your battery faces up in the back tray here, we'll pop that out real quick with our flat blade. It's even nice enough to mark that the positive side or the flat side goes down in the casing.
Install your new CR2032 battery. It just pops into place there and doesn't fall out. Line up the two halves of the shell, click it back together, check for proper operation, and reinstall onto your key fob.
Thanks for watching. Visit us at 1AAuto.com for quality auto parts, fast and free shipping, and the best customer service in the industry.
