Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
Hi everyone, Sue here at 1A Auto. And today, we're going to show you how to replace your ignition coils on a 4.7 liter on our '03 Tundra today. If you need this part or any other part for your car, click on the link below and head on over to 1AAuto.com.
Hood releases on the driver's side knee kick panel. It's marked clearly with a hood popping open. Pull on the handle. The safety latch is to the right of the Toyota symbol. You'll feel a flat piece of metal there. Push up on it.
10-millimeter socket, and you loosen up the mounting bolt. You just take the mounting bolt right out, and put it aside. And you can just grab that coil and twist it and pull straight up. Now we can grab the connector a little bit easier, push on this tab, and pull up on it. There we go. And there we have a coil.
Here we have the new coil from 1AAuto.com and the coil that we took out of our '03 Tundra. As you can see, they needed them. There was a hairline crack, and they did some sort of like rubber repair here, maybe with RTV. That's a good band aid to get you out of the woods, but you still have a misfire. The coil from 1A Auto has the water seal. It's got the four-prong with the lock connector, mounting bolt. It's identical. This says Toyota on it. It's a factory part. If you need this part or any other part for your car, click on the link below, and head on over to 1AAuto.com.
Before I reinstall the coil, I like to put a little silicone paste on the tip. That just makes a good smooth contact, and on the boot, so that a little water resistant buildup. And then you're just going to slide it down in there. Line up the mounting bolt and push down firm. I'm going to click on the connector. Hear that snap. Grab that mounting bolt. And then tighten it down. You just want it tight. Once it bottoms out, use a little quarter turn. Repeat this process eight times on this 4.7 liter.
Thanks for watching. Visit us at 1AAuto.com for quality auto parts, fast and free shipping, and the best customer service in the industry.

The coil packs are great if you're not looking for quality, the spark is weak, I can definitely feel the difference in performance between these and Denso, will never order a generic part again, classic case of getting what you're paid for, nor would I ever order any of these parts for my customers I would be out of business in a week

Hello, I made the original order in May. After I installed the set they ran fine for a while. Then one of them went bad, which you replaced promptly. Since then another one has gone bad also, we took the truck to the shop and they installed another one and its running fine for now. I've been pleased with the service I've received from 1aauto but no so much the quality of the product. Sincerely, Gary Burrage.

Went to local auto parts store to price coil packs for my 2004 Toyota Tundra. Counter person advised that they only had 1 in stock and I needed 8. He turned me on to 1A auto and said the parts are much cheaper. 1 of their coil packs were $84.00. We looked on 1A Auto web site and could get 8 coil packs for $114.00. I went home pulled up 1A Auto and ordered right away. The process was easy and got great customer service. The parts arrived as detailed and on time. Installed my coil packs same day. Will definitely order more in near future. Thanks 1A Auto

Upon having trouble which Lexus said was bad gas, and having Lexus drain, clean fuel system, throttle body, fill with new gas-car ran fine. For about two days, going uphill to home, car would cough and percolate. Back to Lexus-change spark plugs, and tuneup, new gas and car ran fine for a few days then the same problem. Took to a new mechanic-could not duplicate problem but changed the MAF-car ran fine for a couple of days. The new mechanic came to our home and hooked up his computer-took the car for a ride and had slight choking going up hill. His computer noted an ignition problem with #1 cylinder. I purchased the entire set of 8 ignition coils from 1A, installed them on a Saturday, myself, and took the car for a ride-runs great and also continues to run great, with my testing the conditions every other day now for about two weeks. I guess I need to give a class to Lexus and their computer geeks.

Ignition Coils - 02 Sequioa

March 21, 2019
Received parts quickly. Each part appears identical to the OE parts they replaced. After 254k, five of the eight OE parts had developed hairline cracks and may have been allowing moisture into the coil and causing difficulty in starting. I had only one issue with one of the new coils. It appears to have been an issue during the manufacturers assembly of the part. The spring which makes contact with the spark plug was blocked by a small piece of the rubber seal where the rubber seal meets the plastic housing for the coil. The excess rubber caused the spring to be compressed and bent away, thus preventing the spring to contact the spark plug. Easily repaired by using a small knife (Xacto blade) to trim the rubber away from the spring to allow it to freely extend so it can compress against the spark plug. I would examine each coil for similar obstruction prior to installation. No issues with engine starting since replacement of coils (500 miles). New parts appear to be of good qua

As of right now I would recommend this company to anyone who has a fix it yourself attitude. I appreciate that the appropriate installation video was sent to my email after I made my purchase. I do much of my mechanic work with the help of online videos. the hardest part is finding the video you need that is to the point and comes with some additional tips. It is nice to not have to search for a video. The right one comes right to your inbox.

Ill keep this story pretty straight and to the point !!
Had issue with my truck which led me to 1A auto YouTube vid on how to fix it . In that video they showedTheir parts. After doing more research and looking at competitors pricing, I found a lot of people recommended 1As coils and they were some of the cheapest.
After changing plugs and coils , issue is resolved and truck runs like a dream.
Great money spent honestly !!!

These coils work well so far. Had a little trouble connecting the ends from the wiring harness to two of them though. Not sure if it was due to manufacturing tolerances or what. Seem to run and perform as they should and I hope to keep driving this truck for many more miles. Thank you.

First of all, I have ordered a handful of items over the years and not had any issues with the product or with replacements. I will also still use this company for most of my aftermarket needs for basics such as suspension parts, tail lights, etc. However, this ignition coil set has been disappointing. I have a 2006 Tundra with 220K miles. I replaced the factory coils approximately 6 months ago with the listed ones. The truck ran well enough--I didn't notice a real change, but then I wasn't having any problems; the factory coils were old and I decided to replace them as a preventative measure. Now the truck is running rougher and idles rougher.
I'm not showing any error codes yet but I know it's coming. I reached out to 1A with a proposal for upgrading to the "performance" version (and pay the difference in cost) since I don't trust the baseline version now that they are failing, but the policy is they will only replace the defective coil. If I want to try the performance coi
