Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly, that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video, we'll be showing you how to replace the mirror on this 1992 Lumina, same as any four door Lumina '90 to '94. Also, similar to '87 to '94 Corsica. The Corsica, the door panel removal maybe a little different. Tools you'll need are a Philips screwdriver, flat blade screwdriver, a putty knife or a door panel clip tool, a 5/64 Allen wrench and a 10 millimeter socket ratchet and extension or a wrench.
In the interest of time here, we're going to speed through removing the door panel. We do have this video in our other videos. Also as a reply to this video. If you want to see it in real time, you can see it there. It's actually pretty simple, removing some screws, removing some clips, disconnecting the switch blade and then removing the upper door panel. Like I said, if you want to see this in real time, just check our other videos or the video response to this video. You'll see the door panel removal and installation video. We don't show the installation at the end either so you can check those videos. Bear with it and we'll be right with you.
There's three 10 millimeter bolts. The easiest way to get through them is a ratchet, socket and extension. If all you had was a 10 millimeter wrench, you can get to all of them using the wrench. It's not a deal breaker if you don't have the socket and ratchet and everything because you can get to all of them with the wrench. I'm going to use the ratchet and take these bolts off. With the bolts off, just kind of shake the mirror a little bit. Okay. Pull the remote up and through and everything comes out. Okay. In 1A Auto, our mirrors are just like the original so they all bolt in place fine. Reinstall is just the reversal of the procedure. Okay, just hold it until I get one on there.
As far as tightening these things up, you want them to be snug but they don't have to be real tight. I'm just kind of using the wrench in my hand. Probably 20, 25 inch pounds which is four to five foot pounds. Then put your gasket back in. Put that through there. Then we'll put the door panel back on and it's ready to go.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality auto replacement parts and the bets service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.
