Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly: that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the side marker light, both replace the bulb and the whole assembly, if you were to break one. The only tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver and a 11mm socket with a ratchet and a small extension.
To replace the side marker you're going to need a Phillips screwdriver and an 11mm socket with a small extension and a ratchet. Remove the Phillips screw right there from the side of the lens, and then down in here, there's an 11mm bolt right there, and you remove that. For me, it takes an extra second, but I just like to remove this whole piece here; there are three clips that you spin out. Then the clips pop right out and this lifts up and out. Just gives you a little more room in here. As this bolt is coming off, you want to be careful not to drop it. I just pulled it into the socket and bring it right up. Then the light comes right out.
Here's your side marker, and then if you were looking to replace the whole assembly with a new one from 1A Auto, because it got broken or something, you just pull a clip out here and pull this harness right through there. Obviously, reinstallation is just the reverse. Plug in our light; turn it and twist. You want this harness to kind of go down and around. You want it to come down out of here and then clip it into there. Now, put it right in there. Put this on. Replace it. Let's put our screw in first. Okay, now here I'm putting that little nut right into my 11mm socket and then feeding it down in there and putting it on. The reason you put that screw on first is so you don't have to hold the light at the same time while you're trying to get that nut down in there. Makes it a little easier, without dropping it. Now we'll fast forward through tightening up that nut. Make sure the screw is tight; they don't have to be overly tight. You are just going into plastic here; so as long as they're nice and snug, it's not a very big part, so it won't go anywhere. Now this panel just goes in; make sure the front goes under, down on, and you just push the pins in, push them down, and they're on.

Flat Blade Screwdriver
1. Handling the Bulbs
Note: DO NOT TOUCH the bulbs- the oil from your fingers will burn into the light and foul your bulb.
Clean with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth if the bulbs do get touched.
2. Remove the plastic cover
Pop the hood and secure it.
Unscrew the three clips at the top.
Pull it up and set aside.
3. Remove the headlight assembly
Pull up the two tabs anchoring the headlight assembly
Pull out the headlight assembly
Unplug the wiring harness and bulbs.
4. Aim headlights
Preliminarily aim your headlights by matching the adjustor screws on the new headlight assembly to match the old one
5. Install the new headlight assembly
Plug in the bulbs and harness
Put the headlight assembly into place and push down the anchor tabs
6. Reinstall the plastic cover
Clip back in the 6 push clips

In this video we're going to show you how to replace the headlights, just replace your headlight bulb and the whole assembly if you have a broken headlight assembly. This is a 2004 Crown Victoria. This is the same for any '98 to '07 Crown Vic. The only tool you'll need is a regular flat blade screwdriver. Okay, you want to start by removing the plastic upper close out panel. There's three clips. They kind of unscrew on the top and then they just pull right out and then the panel pulls up and out. Okay, then you just kind of lay it back just to give yourself some extra room. Okay, what I find is the easiest way actually is there are two tabs right here. You might need to use a screwdriver and you just basically pry these clips up.
It comes off. It's the same thing here. It will take some force. Shake them a little bit. Okay, come up and off. Then you pull your light forward. Now you can easily access. Here's your bulb. Pull it out. Twist and pull. Okay, then it just pulls out of the socket like that. It's a 3457AK. Okay, back in. Now here's your headlight. Okay, you'll want to disconnect it. If you're looking to replace a light, that's obviously how you get at it. If you've broke your whole assembly, a new one from 1A Auto will look just like the original and fit right in. If you're just looking to replace your bulb you just twist that ring off and pull out the bulb. Okay, put it back in. Put a chain ring on.
Okay, if you are putting on a new headlight assembly what you're going to want to do, these are the adjustors right here, okay? What you want to do is basically set them on the new headlight the same distance here, okay. That's a good preliminary aim. Once you get the headlight into the vehicle I believe this is either a 4 or 5 mm head, you use a wrench to aim. This one which is the top is probably the up, down and this is I believe the left, right. Re-install pretty easy. Plug a few bulbs back in. Okay. You need to make sure these are kind of going straight back. Now you can see they're all through. One, the lower one and then this one down here. Okay, this is your inner clip and so I push the light in. Put the clip down in. Push down and you're outer one, push the light in again a little bit and shake it a little bit. Make sure it's all the way in. Okay and push down.
This one you've got to use some force to make sure it's all the way down. Now this panel just goes in. Make sure the clips goes under. Now on. You just push the pins in. Push them down and they're locked.
