Rear Struts Didn't Fit Well

When I went to install the rear struts, I noticed the shape looked a bit off from the OEM struts I just took off. The metal loop at the bottom (houses the rubber bushing) appeared to be welded on at a slight angle compared to the OEM strut. This tilt was much more pronounced on the right one than the left. When I installed the left one, it took some forcing to get it to fit onto the car. When I installed the right one, I literally had to grease it up and pound it into place with a mallet. For comparison, the OEM ones I replaced slid on and off the car effortlessly. When I went to do the front struts, I got the old struts off only to realize the front right strut I had received was defective and had leaked all its oil out in the box. There was no apparent damage from shipping. I contacted customer service at 1A and they promptly shipped a replacement which I appreciate. Otherwise the front struts went on without trouble and seem to be decent quality.

So far they are great. Car handles like new again. And here I thought the roads were getting bad lol. I was shocked how much better the ride was. As a diy home wrench turner I particularly liked the bolt and go nature of these, no messing with spring compressors. We'll have to see if they hold up but so far I'm pleased.

Order arrived on time. All parts present. Installed as easily as can be expected for a Toyota Prius. Seem to do the job perfectly. Drove from Tucson, AZ to San Diego, CA and back with no issues.

Is this a lift? As stupid as it might sound Im trying to lift my Prius to fit a little over size off road tires. I know I know thy look bad ass lifted though seen a few people doing it.

Thanks for checking us out! These struts are built to the OEM specifications and would have the same ride height as the OEM struts. These parts will not create a lift on the vehicle.
