Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. This is a 2011 Ford F150. I'm going to show you how to replace a broken rear door handle. Rear door panel, we're going to start by removing this panel back in here. Pull the handle out. And put a 90-degree pick back inside. Get it locked in and pull. Now, we're going to pull the panel off up here. There's two clips, one down here, one up here. Insert the tool and pry. This is the right tool to use. These red trim tools are available at 1AAuto.com.
There are four bolts that hold the panel on. An eight-millimeter bolt here and three six-millimeter bolts. And we'll remove those using a socket, ratchet and extension. All right. Your 90-degree pick again, you're going to pull this panel up right in the corner. Work it underneath. Make sure you get a good bite and pull straight up. And then pull up and go to the front. Same thing--straight up. Disconnect the switch by pressing the tab here. And now the panel will lift up and come away. And small flat-blade screwdriver, there are two tabs on the cable. All right, once you release those two tabs, twist the cable around, and bring it up and out.
And to get this out of the door panel, what I like to do is twist it until the tabs are up and down. And then it's pretty easy to pry up, and you lift up to release that back tab. And then you push down on the top tab and push it out. Your broken door handle comes out pretty easy. There's just two tabs right here. Push on the two tabs to release the handle, and it comes right out. New handle from 1A Auto, we'll remove the foil after we install it, but it's exactly like the original door handle. Spring still in place. It's going to go in just like the original.
And then to put the new handle in, just hook it into place. Put the back in first and then snap the front in. All right. Door panel back on--just take your three clips at the bottom and kind of put the panel in place. And it just rests there. And then take the cable, put it into the handle. Just kind of wants to be sideways. Make sure it's up and down. Twist it, pull, and then push the green clip back in place. Make sure this wire comes up through. Okay. Probably the hardest part is just making sure that your door lock come up through the hole. So push this into place, and then lift up. Kind of feel your door lock into place. And then push it against the door, slide it down. Make sure it's nice and tight against the door. Okay.
And now we can reinstall the four mounting bolts. Thread in the eight-millimeter and then thread in the three six-millimeters. Okay. And now, put your three trim panels back in place. Your window switch, make sure these clips are still in place. If they're stuck in the door, you can push them down through and recover them and slip them back onto the bezel. Reconnect our switch and push it down in place. This panel--beveled edge goes to the back. Put it in, and press it til it clicks. And then this top panel, curved edge goes on the top. And just make sure these clips are still on it. And they go right in the slots in the door. And you're all set.

Hi, I'm Mike, from 1A Auto. This is a 2011 Ford F150. I'm going to show you how to replace your broken, inside door handle, with a new part from 1A Auto. Okay, just to make sure that your courtesy lights don't drain your battery, if you're working inside the car, and you have the doors open for awhile, you can pull your interior light fuse. That fuse is located right down here, near the passenger's feet kick panel. Pull that door open and off. Fuse box is right here, squeeze and pull that off. Then your fuse puller is right here, and the fuse for the courtesy lights, and you can confirm this in your owners manual, but the courtesy light fuse is right here. Number 15, it's a 15 amp, number 12. Pull it out, and it's out.
To remove the door panel, you're going to want to start with a 90 degree pick, available at 1A Auto, and you really need one of these. A lot of these you can do with just a little flat blade screwdriver, but you really need to get in here. Start at the top, force the pick in there at the corner, and twist. Then, I've already done it once, so it's probably going to come out pretty easy, but you pull really firm, and remove that panel. Then the same thing, right down in here. Work the pick down at the back. Get a good bite and lift up. Then there's two eight millimeter bolts: one here, and then one back in behind there. Then two six millimeter bolts--there right at the bottom, here and here.
I'm using an eight millimeter socket, with a ratchet and an extension, and remove these two bolts. Switching over to a six millimeter socket, and remove these two. These will come out quick. Use a nice big 90 degree pick. Work it right in, and then underneath. Then you want to pull straight up, and same thing. Now it looks like this has been apart before, so it comes apart pretty easy, but you would want to work this in and pull straight up to release the front clip. Then you have three connectors--one here, tab at the front of the vehicle, comes out. Tab at the back comes out. Tab at the back disconnects. Now you can pull your panel up and off the door.
The latch cable, you can see it has two teeth on it. Just work a screwdriver in, push the teeth, and I'm pulling, was pulling out while I push these teeth down, and then the cable rotates out. Once you have your cable disconnected, there's just one more connector, here at the front. For the mirror tab on the front, push, disconnect, and your door panel comes off.
Once you have the door panel off, and you can see the return spring on our old handle is broken. There's just two clips, show you right on the back. Press on those two clips and push the old handle out. Old door handle, from the vehicle. Like I said, the little return spring popped out. New handle from 1A Auto, we'll remove the foil after we install it, but it's exactly like the original door handle. Spring still in place. It's going to go in just like the original.
All right--new handle. Put the back in first, and then press it into place. Door handle, we install, we had our mirror switch out--it just pops up and out. You put the connector in towards the front and then push it down into place. Then put the panel into place and your three hooks at the bottom, you just kind of put them into place preliminarily.
The door panel just kind of rests there. Then you can reconnect your mirror switch. Pull your harnesses up through the door, then put your door latch cable back into place, and push it down into the hole. Then put the wire down through, twist, pull it in here, and then push it into place. Make sure your door lock is unlocked, and then push the panel firmly. You lift up a little bit, push it firmly against the door, and slide it down. You might have to kind of find your door lock knob. Okay, you just have to lift up and get it over the door lock knob. Push it firmly against the door, and it should slide down into place.
Now we're just going to remove our plastic. If these clips didn't come out with your window switch, just push them down through, but be very careful not to drop them, and push the clips back on to the switch housing. Then reconnect the door lock and then your window switches. Then lock it in place.
The eight millimeter bolt, with the washer, goes into the pole cup--start that. The longer one goes up here. We'll start that in, and then start our two six millimeter. Use a socket ratchet extension, or just a driver with a six millimeter socket. Tighten these up. To the eight millimeter, tighten that one up. Get this one started, and socket ratchet extension, to tighten it up.
Okay, old doubled edge goes in the back, put that one in place. Then this one goes down in--this whole tab goes to the back. Test your door handle and make sure the window's open, doors unlocked, and everything works good.
Reinstall your fuse, to get the courtesy lights back on. Back in place--push it in nice and secure. Put your fuse puller back in place, cover back on, and the kick panel back in place.
