1. Removing the Clips
Looking down on the backside of the grill, you'll see four clips along the top of it. Using the screwdriver, go ahead and pop those out.
Repeat for the clip in the middle of the grill.
Reaching in behind the grill, you'll see two more clips at the bottom corners. Pop them out. (On this vehicle, there are two more clips under each of the headlights.)
2. Removing the Grille
Making sure you have a good grip, give the grill a pull.
3. Replacing the Grille
Pressing your new grill into place, make sure you re-secure the clips as you do so.

In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and put back on the grille on this 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. There is nothing wrong with the grille on this vehicle, so we just took it off and put it back on for you.
The only tool you'll need is a flat blade screwdriver.
Grab the clips from behind, and pop them out. It's better if you do it quickly.
Then, what you want to do is there's one in the middle that I just popped and then there are two down the bottom. I'm just putting my screwdriver down into the grille, popping them out. Then you want to grab underneath. Be careful your grille doesn't go flying. Then the grille comes off. The backside, you can see two at each end of a headlight. There are four up top that you can get to easily, two down bottom. There's one in the middle with the last couple located at the top. Make sure those go in.

Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!

Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money preparing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly—that's going to save you time and money. Thank you, and enjoy the video.
In this video we'll be showing you headlight replacement on this 2004 Chevy Trailblazer, same as a 2002 to 2005, and similar to the '06 to '09. If you're just looking to replace bulbs, the driver side you should be able to reach in behind and twist out the bulbs easily enough. The passenger side you will need to remove the headlight assembly, unless you have very small, flexible hands. You do need to remove the grille to take the headlights off, but that's not that difficult, the grille does just snap on and off.
Probably best to use a screwdriver. You can see right here, especially if you look down like this, there's little clips. Just grab them behind and pop them out. Another one here. It's better if you kind of do it a little quick like that. And then what you want to do is, there's one in the middle that I think I just popped, and there's two down here. I'll just put my screwdriver down into the grille and pop that one off. There's another one here, down here, pop that one out. Then, you just want to grab underneath. Same thing over here, grab underneath. Just be careful that your grille doesn't go flying. Okay, the grille comes off.
On the backside, you can see two into the headlight, then four up top that you can get to easy. Two down at the bottom. There's one here in the middle. Now on the light, there is a tab here. You can stick your screwdriver up under there and pry up on it. And the same thing right back in here, the tab is right here.
Okay, so I'm going to take a screwdriver. Use a screwdriver on this side. Pry up. I want you to pry them up. You might have to shake them around a little bit. The lights come out. There is a plug right down here, use your screwdriver again if you kind of pry up under the tab of the plug. There is a clip in here as well. Okay, just push on this tab here and pull it off. And one more here. Again, hold the tab right here and pull off. And your light's out.
Here’s a new headlight from 1A Auto. Even though this truck's in pretty good shape, it doesn't have that many miles. The old light's already all stone-chipped and scratched. The new light is much clearer and brighter. So we want to remove these from the back here, just has a little shipping stickers, so nothing gets inside.
Okay, before we go to put the light in, it has little shipping keepers, just to make sure that things don't wiggle around. Basically just pull this rod out from the back. Same thing over here. It'll pop right out. Whether you have this new style or the old ones, they just, the headlights, to change your headlight bulbs, you just twist the bulb out and then you unplug it. And that's how you remove and replace the headlight. The bulb itself, twist it back in. We're going to put our dust covers on.
Okay, now reconnect the harnesses. Twist that with the harness connected. Push the headlight back in. Push the tabs down slowly. Grille has a couple locating tabs up top. Make sure those go in.

I hit a deer recently and this set fixed the whole thing. Except for one little piece of trim, this was everything I needed. My car looks better than it did before the accident. My husband said it was easy to install.
Customer Q&A
Current headlight is loose and shakes from hitting a deer. Will these parts fix it?March 14, 2018

Yes, the inner bracket is what holds the Headlights in place and everything was fairly easy to replace..
Excellent parts for the buck. However, if you lost your center CHEVY BOTIE be sure to purchase one because the kit does not come with one and it is what helps hold on the center chrome piece between the Headlights.
Sincerely
