Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the headlight bulbs as well as replace the entire headlight assembly on this 1996 Chevy Tahoe. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this include new headlights from 1AAuto.com, Phillips screwdriver, and a 7mm and 10mm socket and ratchet with an extension.
You want to first remove these four Phillips screws, and we'll just fast-forward as Don does this. Pull the light out, twist the sockets counterclockwise, and pull them out. Then, you want to twist this socket out of your side marker light, and then repeat the process on the other side.
Next, you want to remove this series of 7mm bolts, and we'll just fast-forward as Don does this. There's one more 7mm bolt right here. Once those are removed, you want to just lift up this tab, pull the grille forward, and there's another one on the other side. There's another clip right in the center. Using a stick or a long screwdriver, you just want to push that tab and then pull out on that center tab. Just to give you a better look at it, it's this tab right here.
Next, you want to remove these four 10mm bolts that secure your headlight, and we'll just fast-forward as Don removes those. Now, to service your bulbs, both of them are the same. You just pull back this tab and pull the harness free, then twist the bulb out. Push the new one in, twist it clockwise to lock it, and then just reconnect your harness. If you're looking to replace the whole assembly, you just want to disconnect both of these harnesses by pulling up that tab.
Then take your new headlight and push the harnesses into place. Then push your headlight back into place and replace those four 10mm bolts. Once those are in place, take your grille and pull your parking light sockets through, and then you want to line up the tabs on the grille.
The first one you want to do is the center one, and just push down that tab and push the tab on the grilled into place until it locks. Now, line up those side ones and push those into place and we'll just fast-forward here as Don replaces those five 7mm bolts. There's four along the top of the grille, and then that one in the center just above the badge.
Now, twist your side marker light back into place. Then twist your two parking light sockets back into place, just turning them clockwise to lock them. Then push the assembly into place and replace those four Philip screws. Repeat the process on the other side.

To change the assembly, you want to remove these two 13mm nuts, so just twist out that socket and remove those two nuts. We'll just fast-forward here as Don does this. Once those are removed, the side marker light will pull right out.
On the left is the old side marker light; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll mount exactly the same.
Push your new side marker light into place and replace those two 13mm nuts. Then twist your socket back into place.
Now take your parking light and twist those two parking light sockets into place by just twisting them clockwise to lock them. Then push your parking light assembly into place. Make sure all four of those holes line up, and replace those four Phillips screws. Then you're all set.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the grille on this 1996 Chevy Tahoe. It's the same part and process on these Tahoes from '95 to 2000. The items you'll need for this are a new grille from 1AAuto.com, Phillips screwdriver, 7mm and 13mm socket and ratchet with an extension, and flat blade screwdriver.
You want to first remove these four Phillips screws. We'll just fast forward as Don does this. Pull the light out and twist these sockets counterclockwise and pull them out. Then you want to twist this socket out of your side marker light. Then repeat the process on the other side.
Next, you want to remove this series of 7mm bolts. We'll just fast forward as Don does this. There's one more 7mm bolt right here. There's another clip right in the center, using a stick or a long screwdriver, you just want to push that tab and then pull out on that center tab. Just to give you a better look at it, it's this tab right here.
Up top, is the old grille; below it, are the two from 1A Auto. In the middle is an exact replacement of the old grille and on the bottom is an all chrome version, which we'll be installing on this truck, but first we have to swap over all the stuff from the old grille. You just want to remove these ten 13mm nuts. We'll just fast forward as Don does this. You also want to swap over these clips and there are eight of them in total, four on one side, and four on the other. To remove them, all you do is push in those four triangular pieces, and it just pops out and if gives you any trouble, you can use a flat blade screwdriver to help push it through. We'll fast forward as Don takes the new grille and starts attaching those side marker reflectors and the side marker lights and replacing those 13mm nuts. For the badge, just push it into the center and, just like with the lights, replace those two 13mm nuts. Now, take those eight clips and just push them into place.
Once those are in place, take your grille and pull your parking light sockets through. Then, you want to line up the tabs on the grille, and the first one you want to do is the center one and just push down that tab and push the tab on the grille into place until it locks. Now, line up those side ones and push those into place. We'll just fast forward here as Don replaces those five 7mm bolts. There's four along the top of the grille and then that one in the center just above the badge.
Now, twist your side marker light back into place and then twist your two parking light sockets back into place, just turning them clockwise to lock them. Then push the assembly into place and replace those four Phillips screws. Just repeat the process on the other side.

Hi, I'm Mike Green from 1A Auto. Today, I'm going to show you how to remove and replace the headlights on this vehicle. It's a 1999 Suburban. It's generally the same as a 1988 to 99 Chevy or GMC truck, as well as the '92 to '99 Suburban, Yukon, the 2-door Jimmy full sized, and the Tahoe. With that, the first thing we're going to do is open up the hood to access the headlight. If you're looking to replace your light bulbs, locate these two five millimeter studs. Remove them with socket or a wrench. Your light comes out. You have access to the back of the headlights. You can just unplug the low beam and the high beam and replace the bulbs. If you're looking to replace the headlight assemblies, stay with us. We'll go into more detail on that. In behind there's a mounting plate; if your headlight's been damaged, normally this mounting plate is damaged also. If we want to replace the whole headlight assembly, we'll have to remove the grill.
To do that, what we do next is remove the parking light. It has four Phillip's screws that we take out. Okay, let's speed this up a little bit. You remove the light. You just click the thumbs and twist and pull the lights out. Your parking light's removed; the opposite parking light. There are ten screws which we're going to quickly show you on the grill. These screws hold the grill in, two behind the parking lights, two in the middle, two behind the opposite side parking lights, and then four up top. I got the 10 bolts out. You can see the headlights are still in. The marker lights are still in, but they are unplugged. Once those bolts are out, you can pull it forward. Just make sure everything comes apart in here. Bulbs and stuff are clear. The grill's out, separate.
You can easily unbolt your headlight assemblies. From here we're looking at the driver's side headlight assembly, we'd remove this bolt, this bolt, this bolt, and this bolt. Going to unplug; your headlight's free. This is the new headlight assembly. Okay, and quadruple time. Shops charge 50 bucks an hour for this stuff. This has got to be worth 200 bucks an hour anyways. Look at that hand movement. I don't even know if tools move that fast. Now that the light's bolted in, we can connect the headlight harnesses. Once the headlight harnesses are connected, we'll reach into the cockpit real quick. Test the low beams, click on the high beams. Oh! Everything looks good.
We can put the grill back on, just reverse your procedure. Tilt it in there. Pull the lights through first, each side. Tilt it in. There's a little harness in the center, too. Make sure that doesn't get pinched in there. Push it up in. The top, the plastic lip goes up over the top of the sheet metal. Once everything looks right, we'll bolt it back in. You're ready to go. Ten they're seven millimeter bolts. We've re-installed the grill. We need to reinstall, we need to plug in the markers and install the parking lights. We're now back in close-up. This you put in and you twist. These go in just like they came out. You get them to click as they lock into place. A shot of espresso or two.
There I am standing in front of the truck. My lips aren't moving. I am talking to you through the magic of computers. We hope this video helped you out how you can see we got our lights back in. Our grill's on and our parking lights.

In this video, we're going to be working with our 1996 GMC Sierra. We're going to show you how to remove and replace your vehicle's turn signals. If you like this video, please click subscribe. We have a ton more information on this and many other vehicles. And if you need these parts for your truck, you can follow the link down in the description over to 1AAuto.com.
Here are the items you'll need for this repair.
Remove the four Phillips head screws on the outside edges of your turn signal. We'll do this using a Phillips screwdriver. Once the screws are out, you can pull the housing forward. Remove the electrical connectors. Repeat these steps on the opposite side.
Here we have our turn signals that were removed from our vehicle, and our parts from 1AAuto.com. As you can see, these parts are exactly the same, with the same housings and lenses. Back side has the same openings at the bulb sockets. And we have the same four bulb mounting location. You could see the old ones really fogged up. They're not going to let a lot of light through. They don't look good. These new parts are nice and clear, nice and bright. They're going to get that light through so other people can see what you're doing and update the front of your truck. They'll go in direct fit, just like your original equipment and fix you up right.
Reinstall the lights into the turn signals. Install them into the grill, along with the four Phillips head screws. Repeat these steps on the opposite side.
Thanks for watching. Visit us at 1AAuto.com for quality auto parts, fast and free shipping, and the best customer service in the industry.

Today we're going to replace a parking light for a GM truck and SUV. All that you need is a Phillips screwdriver. It's a pretty easy process.
There are four Phillips screws that hold the parking light on here. Use a Phillips screwdriver. In this case, we have a screw gun and we'll speed the video up a little bit for you. Once those screws are out, the parking light comes right out. There's little thumb locks and you just twist the bulbs and pull them out. Your parking light is out.
Replacement is just a reversal of the procedure. You take your light, put the bulbs in, twist and lock them into place. Put the light in its place. You have your four screws. In a minute we'll speed it up again for you. Thread the four screws in first and then use your power tool or just a regular screw driver and tighten the screws. The screws don't have to be over tight. It is a plastic lens so you don't want to tighten it too much and break the screws. That's it.
Remember this video is brought to you by www.1AAuto.com. The parts in this video can be resourced there. We thank you and we hope this helps with your project.

I purchased this kit for myself for Christmas. Finally got time today with a nice break of 70 & sunny. If i knew it was this easy and inexpensive, I would have done it 10 years ago instead of wasting my time on polishing kits. Took 1 hour with no snags. I CAN SEE AT NIGHT AGAIN! I am going to order the tail lights next. It brought new life to my 94 pickup.

Replaced original "foggy" headlights, parklights and turn signals on front of a 95 extended cab Z-71. New lights look great. Easy to install and adjust. Well packaged individuallly to prevent damage during shipping and bulbs included. Very pleased with quality, price and service from 1A Auto. Followed up later with replacement tail light assemblies that were also high quality. I always check 1A Auto first before buying anything for my 95.

Not only is this product available at a fair price; but it fits perfect! The quality seems very nice as well. And the detailed installation video is an awesome time saver! Once you understand how it all comes apart with a combination of screws and clips, it makes sense. But without the video, it would have taken me much longer to replace my old grill assembly. Thank you 1A AUTO for saving me the time, money, and hassle of taking my Tahoe to the repair shop.

The parts really make my old truck look much better, and easier to see at night . Having said that , the side marker lights really didn't fit well. No good way to modify them , they look ok from a distance but up close they are not flush like the old ones. Headlights are not pre-aimed, and it takes a socket wrench , a torx , and a phillips to adjust them. Still glad I bought them and the price is right.
Nice set for the price

Local parts house wanted $50 for just one headlight. Install was easy thanks to the "how to" vids on utube made by 1aauto. I would recommend that you try the site. This is about the third time i have used it and everything went fine.
My old suburban is two years away from being an antique so these parts gave it a nice facelift.

Good quality replacement - the main headlight and parking light assemblies fit perfectly.

Out of four headlights (2 + 2 replacements) only one can be adjusted. Both turn signal lights were incorrectly assembled and broke at the mounting screw holes. Corner lights and reflectors fit poorly and the top reflectors interfere with the headlights.

This is a good kit for the $$ but the headlight adjusters are very cheap had two break and barely turned the adjustment screw and just one new adjuster is around $40 each so buyer beware!

I purchased these for my uncle as he is restoring his old truck. Found these through 1A for the best price. Easily placed order on line and received email that I would receive them in 3 days. I thought this was a good time-frame as I wasn't in a rush. Received my tracking number the next day to be surprised the items were showing up a day early. My uncle loved them by the way. Also just recently purchased a pair of strut assemblies for my grandmothers car. I don't think I'll ever go back to purchasing in store unless its a dire emergency. I'm forever a 1A parts girl from now on.

I recently purchased new headlights, parking lights, and side marker lights. The parts arrived as promised, and all parts were correct. After installing the headlights, I realized the right side headlight was out if alignment. When I tried to adjust the headlight, I found the adjustment screw was either stripped, or installed incorrectly. I contacted 1aauto, and they sent two new headlights. The new headlights arrived as promised, and after I installed the new headlights, they both appear to be in perfect alignment. I was very impressed with their service, especially customer service when I called to report my problem. I highly recommend 1a auto.

Great price fit snug. I always forget to take that back round plastic piece off cause it looks like it should be there. The bottom lights look great with lights on how they got the ripple affect. Only issue the side market light didn't come with the press on lock but so I gotta find some.
Works great

This set will get your truck looking brand new again. Came packed well and had no issues with damage. Installs really easy and the headlight assemblies come with bulbs which is a plus. Only wish they put new hardware for the side marker amber lenses, had to use original which was worn out and rusted but they installed nicely none the less. Overall great set that fit my 1998 K1500 Silverado perfectly. Thanks 1A Auto!

Like everything I've ever bought from 1A Auto this headlight kit is top-notch. My uncle is redoing a 1995 Chevy C 1500 Silverado. Everything he's ever needed for the truck we have gotten from A-1 Auto. And if you ever have any problem with anything they send you they are more than happy to help you make it right. Now that we know they're the best we don't even have to go looking at the rest.

Headlights look great, way better than my old hazy ones. Only issue is that they have zero adjustment and the moment I tried to adjust them the adjuster stripped. This wouldnt be a big deal but since the truck is lifted the lights are aimed way to high. I am going to try to play around with it and try to get them to angle downwards.

Everything was packaged well, the outer box was pretty beat up but all the parts inside were fine. Also, the lenses were marked right or left which was helpful on install. Everything fit like it was supposed to and no defects. Amazing how it dressed up my '95 Silverado but more importantly, i can see and be seen better.

Great product looks and functions great. Easy to install and they even provide a quick instructional video. Only thing I seen wrong was that the reflectors and side markers were labeled wrong. The left is actually the right and vice versa
Excellent fitting set!

The headlight kit was a great upgrade to our 1997 Chevy Silverado. Not only a dramatic improvement to night time driving for safety, but aesthetically it improved the looks of our ranch truck with almost 300,000 miles. Everyone with vintage age trucks should upgrade.

July 13, 2022
The kit was exactly as described and arrived promptly and in good order. The headlights, parking markers and side reflectors fit perfectly on my 1997 Tahoe. I had hoped that I would be able to replace the lens only thus making the swap easier, but there is enough difference from the original factory parts that I had to replace the entire assembly. This as it turned out was far easier than I had anticipated. Bottom line is I am very satisfied with the upgrade.
Highly recommend

The lower drivers side reflector didnt fit. I had to use my old one. I dont like to complain, so I didnt. But, I have to be honest. I love 1A Auto. Your instructional videos help me on every project. Thanks. God bless!!
The headlights and the clear running light/turn signals are great. The yellow corners are the reason I'm giving 4 stars. They do not fit without modifications. Yes, there are left and right ones and yes they were going into the correct spot, still needed modification. Other than that, I have no complaints. They look great and made a huge difference on my Tahoe
I would recommend

Hi Cody,
From what I recall, the headlights come with what can be seen within the photo. The lights bolted right up with no trouble. Be very gingerly when tightening the cross tip screws for the lower running lights. The corners of the plastic can crack very easily. So far the new lights have been great though.

The ones I purchased mounted directly to the existing grill and frontend form right out of the box.
I don't believe there were any additional brackets.

It's been a while since I received this, but I think the headlights install into the existing brackets. I did not need any other parts for replacement. A big improvement over the old lights!

I replaced my factory lights with these and did not require anything extra. They bolted in exactly where the old lights did. No issues, easy install. I would say yes if you are referring to the brackets that are part of the assembly shown for a like for like swap. If you are trying to make repairs to a damaged light support, this may not have the bracket you are asking about.

Jason S

I'm not sure of the brand, but I installed these on my C3500 Dually and it looked like a brand new truck. The lights were bright as the sun. Matter of fact, they looked so good that I ordered a set of new lights for the clearance lights and they made a real difference, too. I felt like it was a great purchase and made my old truck look so much better.
