Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the tail lights on this 2005 GMC Savana 2500. It's a similar process on the Chevy Express. The only tools that you'll need for this are a 10 millimeter socket and a ratchet.
Start off by opening the door. You can see right here, there are two 10 millimeter nuts. You just want to go ahead and remove those. We'll fast forward as he does this. Now, up here, you can see there's another 10 millimeter nut. Go ahead and remove that. That nut removed, you can pry this panel off. You can see the clips. Now, up above the tail light, you can see that there's actually another 10 millimeter nut. You just want to remove that.
With those nuts off, you can now pull the tail light out and you can now access your bulbs. To change the bulb, you just twist them out, pull the bulb out, put the new one in and twist it back into place. The lower one's the same. You can see here that one of the clips on that panel actually stayed. What you want to do here is just remove that clip and you can just slide it right back into that plastic panel. It'll actually snap into place.
Now line up the tail light. You can see the hole in the bottom of the light lines up right there. Once that's lined up, you want to replace those three 10 millimeter nuts that hold that into place, and then the panel up above it and the 10 millimeter nut that secures that. You are now all set.
