In this video, we're going to show you outside door handle replacement on this 2006 Malibu, same as the Malibus of this vintage as well as other GM vehicles. The only tool you'll need is a T25 Torx driver. You may want to do this if your door handle breaks or if you want to upgrade to chrome door handles.
There's a little plug here. Pull that out. Use a T25 Torx wrench and you can see a screw kind of diagonally in here. We'll remove that. We'll speed it up here as I'm just unscrewing that T25 Torx screw. I'll put out on the handle. I'm going to pull out on this here. It just comes right out. Go back with the handle and right out.
Reinstallation is just the reverse. Have the handle back, put it in, slide it forward, and you can pull it out, re-insert that part of the handle. Take your Torx screw. It's right in.Tighten it nice and firm and then put your cap back in.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a front door handle. We show you on the driver side, but the passenger side is basically the same procedure. Even the rear doors are the same procedure. You'll need a T25 Torx bit and either just a regular driver style or a bit with a socket and an extension.
Okay, you can open up either door. There's a little plug, and you'll need a Torx 25 bit and a ratchet and extension, or actually just a T25 driver and remove that bolt. Now, here, we'll pull out the door handle a little bit. Pull off that back part and then pull back on the door handle and out.
Okay, to reinstall, put the gasket in place and put the handle back in. Slide it forward, pull it out a little bit, and you can put the other bezel in. As you see here, we're just installing the original blue handle. This vehicle didn't need a new handle.
At 1A Auto, we carry both just black handles that you can paint them match, and we also carry the chrome handles which are a nice upgrade, but you can see it's pretty easy.
Get that T25 Torx started in there. You may have to hold the rear part of the handle, get it started in there correctly, tighten it up, and then put your plug back in place.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace an outer door handle assembly on a 2007 Pontiac G6. It's fundamentally the same for model years 2007 through 2010. I used a T25 Torx socket and extension of socket wrenches, as well as a flat blade screwdriver.
Remove the rubber cover, locate the T25 Torx screw that's in the hole. I'll fast-forward as I take that screw out. Pull out on the handle and then off with the little cover. Now, in removing the handle, slide it back till it clicks, and then pull out the front portion a little bit, and then all the way out. Then, you're just going to need to turn it a little bit to get it to come out fully.
You can remove the rubber and install the rubber gasket. Put the back end of the handle in, twisting it in, then pushing it on the front, and then slide it forward. Pull out the handle and slide the cap back on.
Be careful when reinstalling the T25 Torx screw in the handle that you don't drop it inside the door panel. Fast-forward a little bit as we tighten that up, and you can see that we just took off the original door handle and put it back on. This car didn't need a new door handle. At 1A Auto, we sell both black door handles that you can paint to match if you wanted to. We also sell chrome door handles, and we sell those in sets of four if you wanted to upgrade your G6 to chrome door handles. Put the rubber cap back on.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace door handles. This is useful, obviously, if your handle gets broken. Also, we sell the chrome door handle set for this vehicle. So if you wanted to put a little bit of bling on the outside of your equinox or some other GM vehicles, you can buy the full set of chrome door handles and switch them. It's a pretty easy process. You just need a flat blade screw driver and a T25 Torx driver.
On the door handles, on this vehicle you want to start right here in the back with the open door, and you'll see a little round plug. Carefully get a screw driver in there. Come up. Distort it. Put the screwdriver in behind. Pop the plug out. Right inside you'll see a T25 Torx screw. Remove that screw. Pull that out. Pull your handle out some. Then this part pulls right out. Then push this firmly backwards. This part of the handle comes out.
Here are new handles from 1aauto. We have them both in unfinished black as well as chrome. Obviously this will make a good replacement. If you did want to paint the handle to match like your original, you could be as crude as just going to a hardware store finding a color that matches pretty well and painting it that way, or go to an automotive paint store, take your car there. They can usually match the color of your paint, put in an air charge can and spray it so you can finish it that way. Again, we offer these in black as well as chrome. Put the gasket back on there. Put this in. Slide it forward so it latches. Pull it out a little bit. Put this piece right in. Make sure you're pushing down. As you're screwing it in, make sure you're pushing down on this piece here, until it's tight. Put our plug back on. We're all set.

I've used my handle for at least a year and it works fine. However, when my car is leaning away from me, I am careful not to pull too fast when opening the door, so as not to break the handle again.
