Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly: that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we're going to replace the parking and fog lights in a 2004 Grand Prix, basically the same as any 2004-2008 Grand Prix and before we do that a little bit of introduction. Maybe you need to do your fog light because it was damaged. It happens a lot. But maybe you just want to give your Grand Prix a little bit of a face lift. As you can see here, there's one side with a nice new headlight and parking and fog light, and now let's see both sides. There we go. On a 120,000-mile vehicle, we just took probably 90, 100,000 miles off of the front end. With a little bit of time and new headlights and fog lights, you too can give your Grand Prix a face lift.
Fog and parking light changing for a 2004-2008 Grand Prix is pretty much as easy as it looks. There are two Phillips screws: one there and one here. You may have to press pretty good to get them at first. Then you kind of have to jiggle the light a little bit and it comes out. On the back top, give it a twist. Then, the fog light is a halogen. You want to be careful not to touch that bulb with your fingers because the oil will get on there and basically fry the bulb. If you need to change out your bulbs I definitely recommend doing it outside, doing it now and then plugging the bulb into the new fog light. There are two tabs here. Pull one, pull the other, and then work it off.
Here's the new light. I'm going to show you one thing. Sometimes if you buy these new bulbs they'll actually come with a washer. On these lights they have a built-in rubber washer so you'll actually probably want to take this off because you won't be able to force it in there. That's what we did. Take that washer off and actually you can see right in there and see how this goes in. You've got to kind of work it through that rubber grommet. Then twist. We'll plug the fog light in first. Then we'll put the new light in. Twist, and remove this pine needle. Back the light in there. Insert one screw, and two screws. It's in place. So in a few minutes you've gone from that to that . a little mini face lift.
