In this video, we're going to cover a taillight, 94 Corolla, same as a 94-97 four door sedan. The only tool you'll need is a 10 mm wrench, or a socket and ratchet. If you're just looking to replace the bulbs, I cover that. You can ignore the part, where I disconnect the lead inside the trunk though.
On one of these Corollas. Back in the trunk here, you're going to see some trim panels. This vehicle, they have already been pulled out. There's probably just a few plugs, that go into a couple of different spots. You are going to pull the panel back. What you want to do is, right down here, there's a plug. You can pinch. Push that plug through. I'm pressing right here on this tab and disconnect my lead. You have a 10 mm nut here, as well as two 10 mm bolts, right here.
We'll speed it up here, as I remove that nut on the inside and then the two bolts on the back. Once you have those out ... You want to grab and pull the taillight right back. If you're just looking to change bulbs. All these sockets, they just turn counter clockwise. They come out. The bulbs push down counter clockwise. Pull them up and out. They go back in twist clockwise and lock. If you're replacing a whole entire assembly, you do some damage. Take the assembly out.
Now you want to pull this body colored piece of trim off. Do that by pinching right here, and then pushing it off, pinching here. Pushing it off and it comes off. A new taillight assembly from 1A Auto. Take your trim. I better do it this way. Just make sure that this part of the taillight goes right in to the trim. Press it on. Put the harness through. Push the plug all the way through. As you go to put it on, there are two line up pins right here. They go right into these clips here. You kind of hook it on there. Make sure that your studs coming through on the inside.
I fast forward through, putting those two bolts back in. The nut on the inside, tighten them up. When you tighten those up, you want to make them firm, but don't over tighten them. Put that back in place.
