Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly. That's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the side view mirror on this '95 Honda Accord, same as any '94 to '97. We'll be doing the driver's side, and it's a power mirror, but you can use this procedure for the passenger side as well as the manual mirrors. The only tool you'll need is an 8-mm socket with a ratchet and extension or a driver.
It's a pretty easy process. There's a triangle right up here, and you just kind of give it a good quick tug. It's just held in with a clip here, and then, you've got three 8-mm nuts right here. Your connection is just a little tab right here that you push down with your thumb and remove. Okay, then, you undo your bolts. Be careful not to drop them down into the door. I always do my top one last. Like to hold onto here, and obviously if your mirror's broken, you're not really worried about it dropping, but you also don't want to scratch your car.
Clips in a little bit, so if you push up on this down here and down there. Maybe the use of the flat blade screwdriver would help. There's the mirror off, and what I was doing there is on this connection, it's actually also a clip to help when you put it in, you clip it in, and then you can do the bolts without worrying about it. You can see this mirror's in good shape, but just for comparison, here's the new mirror from 1A Auto, and you can see it's got the nice mirror pad and everything on it, and the connection's all the same. So, it's kind of bolted in there just like the original.
Our mirror comes in black. You can obviously, if you're just looking to fix it, install like this, and it'll look okay. If you wanted to paint it to match your vehicle, what you can do is find an automotive parts store that has a paint department, and most of them now, you can take them your car. You just drive your car over there. They'll find your paint coat, or you can find the paint coat for them, and they can mix you up some paint and put it into an air charged can and you can repaint the new mirror so it matches the vehicle. It'll match pretty well. It'll be hard to notice.
So, this one's fine. I'm going to just see, re-installation is just in opposite. Okay, push it in. This clips it right in and bolts. Okay, then when you tighten these on, you want to make them snug, but they don't have to be too tight. Then, reconnect. Put your trim panel back on, it has a little tab that goes down in here first, and then, we'll just press it right on there, and you're all set.
