Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
Today, we're going to show you how to replace your tail lights. The car we have here is a 2003 Honda Civic. It's a two-door. The tail lights are the same for 2001 to 2005. We've got our performance style, which has some LEDs on it. We also sell the regular replacement tail lights at 1A Auto. The replacement process, other than a couple of the connectors on the back, is the same for either the OE style or the performance style.
We'll get started just by opening up the trunk. There's going to be a little trim plug of some type here. It may be just a straight pullout that you pry out with a screwdriver. This style you twist out the center and then pull it out. Pull this trim back.
If you just want to replace your bulbs each one of these just twists counterclockwise and pulls out, these small bulbs. You would just pull out and push back in as well as to remove the tail light you want to remove all of these. You just twist them all counterclockwise. The sockets come out. Some come out a little easier. This one comes out. They all just pull right out and you'll get your new bulb and push it in.
If you're looking to remove the entire taillight assembly, remove these four nuts. Once those 8 millimeter nuts are off, then just pull the tail light out. Take a second and clean out the tail light area.
Reinstall your new light. There are tabs on here. You're just going to line those up with the holes in the body as well as the mounting studs themselves. Reinstall the 8 millimeter nuts and tighten them up. On these ones we found we needed an extended socket. When you tighten them up just get them nice and firm. You don't want to overtighten them.
Our new light plugs in just a little bit different. This you can disconnect by pushing on the tab. This black connector goes up to the top here. Take the bulb out of this connector and then it just plugs right into the light here. Your side marker is actually now part of the LED, so you can just take that bulb out. This one that just connects into its regular spot. It's a lot easier just to see it from the outside, push it in, and turn it to lock. There's lights, brake lights, turn signal, backup light, put your trim panel back together, pull it into place and put the clip back in place.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.

Best & Most Inexpensive Honda Civic Tailights
B
February 13, 2020
I was searching the web trying to find replacements for broken tail lights on my 2002 Honda Civic LX sedan when I found 1A Auto's website. The price for a pair was unbelievable and by far the lowest I could find on the internet!! I spoke with a Customer Service representative who was very professional, courteous & addressed all my questions. The Customer Service representative even walked my through the online order process. The taillights arrived within a few days & after watching your videos the installation process was quick and easy. Strongly recommend 1A Auto if you're looking for any parts for your vehicle. You wont find better quality or prices than on 1A Auto's website.
