Ford Explorer lift glass hinges
Robert
March 21, 2017
The hinges were easy to install. Price was great and quality was good . The only thing that I did not like was they did not come with the gasket that goes between the nut and window .
Angle wrong broke glass

when I got the hinges I noticed that the angle did not quite fit the curvature of the glass. Against my best instincts I went and installed them anyway thinking they would be close enough. Wrong. An hour and a half later when the sun hit the window and it got good and warm it shattered. If they do not fit your vehicle do not attempt to use them.

The hinges fit perfectly, a little tricky to change out without a third arm. They look good and best of all I feel way better about the rear glass now!
Does not include spacers

You will need to order Ford OEM D7FZ-6440610-A replacement spacers. Got mine on Amazon. Old ones were dry rotted. Wish 1A would have made note of this. Do love their videos.

Yes, but you'll need the nuts you remove from the old latches. Be sure to replace these on a level surface. The vehicle can have a slight back to front incline. If you drop the retaining nut as I did, maybe they won;t fall in the door as easily. I had to buy some Ford hardware because I dropped the nuts inside the rear door. It's a snap to replace these if you follow their video. Two thumbs up for 1ADM.
