Hi. I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the taillight on this 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. It's a pretty easy procedure, and the only tool you will need is either some type of clip removal tool, or I just use a flat blade screwdriver, as you will see.
To service your rear taillight, you will want to open up your tailgate and then there's basically two plugs right here, and what you want to do is take a flat blade screwdriver, work it in behind and you'll have to just kind of work at it a little bit, and these pins will kind of start coming out. And what you're prying on is actually the center of the pin.
I'm sure Chrysler has some special tool. Once you get it started out, just grab a hold of it and pull it. The pin comes out. We can get the other one a little quicker. Okay. The pin comes out and now your light pulls right out. If you're just looking to replace bulbs, squeeze right there. The socket comes out and these bulbs just pull right straight out and go back in; same thing with this lower one.
If you want to change your entire assembly, because you've had one broken, that's where the new ones from 1A Auto come in great. There's a little kind of safety tab here, push it out. New light from 1A Auto makes a great replacement. It is designed slightly differently than the old one. The problem with these old ones is sometimes these connector plates go bad because they rely on metal contacts and these sockets are not always reliable, so if you're having a problem with your rear taillights lighting up or if, obviously, you have a broken one the 1A Auto one will help that situation. Take it, okay, it still plugs in exactly the same, lock it in. There is a tab on the side here, feeds right into here. Everything lines up the same as the original. Put your pins in and make sure you push them all the way in and then push the middle in and you're all set.
