Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace an ignition coil on a 2007 through 2010 Pontiac G6. It's exactly the same for cylinders 1 through 4. All you will need is a new coil pack from 1A Auto and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Remove the engine cover by removing the oil cap first, and then pulling it up and off. Reinstall the oil cap for now, just so nothing falls down inside. On top of the engine, you'll find your 4 ignition coils: 1, 2, 3, and 4. Use a 10mm socket and ratchet to remove the bolt. With the bolt removed, pull the coil pack and wires out. Pull down on the grey little clip there, just an eighth of an inch, and then push down on the tab and pull the connector off.
Here, we're showing you the old part. The new coil from 1A Auto is a direct replacement fit, identical part. Put the new coil back onto the harness, clip it in, push the grey clip back in all the way, then seat the coil pack down. Take your bolt and tighten it back up. Fast-forward putting that bolt back in. Now, if necessary, replace the rest of the coil packs, then reinstall your engine cover by taking your oil cap off, put the cover down into place, seat it, and then put the oil cap back on.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the ignition coil on this 2014 GMC Terrain with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. The only tool that you're going to need for this is a flat-blade screwdriver and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Start off by disconnecting this hose. Then you want to loosen up this clamp. There's another one right down here. As you can see, you just need a flat-blade screwdriver and loosen up that bolt. Once both of those are loosened, pull the hoses free, and then lift that box up and off. Now, remove your oil-fill cap and pull up the engine cover. Replace the oil cap so nothing falls down into the engine.
Right here are your ignition coils. Push back on the white clip. Then, push the tab on the harness and pull it free. Then, using a 10mm socket and ratchet remove the 10mm bolt. Then, the ignition coil will pull up and out. Take your new ignition coil and push it down into place. Then replace that 10mm bolt. Repeat the process for any of the other coils you might want to replace.
Reconnect your harness and push that clip back in. Remove your oil cap. Line up these three holes with these three pins. Push your engine cover down into place. You want to line up those two holes with those two tabs and you want to push your upper hose into place. Then push that lower hose into place. We'll fast-forward as Don tightens up those two hose clamps. Then, push in that smaller hose and you're all set.
