In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the temp. door actuator. This is a problem if your vehicle's AC temperature doesn't change. It always blows hot or always blows cold. That's usually this door, this actuator.
Tools you'll need are a flat blade screwdriver, a 7/32 inch socket with a ratchet and an extension, and a pair of needle nose pliers.
In here, underneath, there are some clips that hold this panel on the bottom and there are those clips. You want to use a screwdriver, pry the center down, and then the clips pull out. Okay, then once you have those clips off, just pull this down and out ... and right here is your actuator. Use a pair of needle nose pliers and squeeze that tab. Push it up through. Next, remove these two bolts. They're 7/32 inch. We'll speed up as we just remove those two bolts. The actuator comes down, and you can see that it's plugged in right here. Pull this tab up and it comes off. Here's the new actuator from 1A Auto, same as the original one. We'll connect our harness connection first, and then put it up and in. Let's see.
We'll speed it up here as I start those bolts and then tighten them up. You want to tighten them up nice and snug. Don't want to over tighten them though. I do apologize for the camera angles. I am actually holding the camera with one hand and installing it with the other.
Now you need to reconnect the rod that connects to the temp door, and I'd separated the small clip from the rod. Clip the clip in first, and then just put the rod on, just kind of relax it on there and then press it down into the clip.
Now, we'll fast forward. The last step is just to put that access panel back up in there and put the three clips back in and you should be all set.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.

But, it turned out they were just what was needed. On the phone with one of 1A autos technician who assured me that I had the right parts for my car based on its identification. The prices were unbelievable compared to the dealers and other auto repair shops prices.

Customer Q&A
I'm a little confused on the actuators I want to b sure I purchase the right one.. What's the diff between this actuator and the automatic one which is $141. Is the automatic with Cadillac that has the temp setting on the passenger door?February 20, 2019

The item listed at $141 is a Genuine AC Delco unit whereas the one currently being referenced is our 1A Auto house brand. 1A Auto's house brand parts are manufactured by various aftermarket companies specifically for us and built to your vehicle's exact OEM specifications.
They can both be used on models with the Automatic Temperature Control. The easiest way to tell if you have the Automatic Temperature Control feature is whether or not you have a digital display to adjust the temperature. Hope this helps you out!

I have a 99 Deville with the automatic climate control settings. The A/C blows hot out of the driver side and cold out of the passenger. I checked the refrigerant and it has the correct amount of pressure. I was wondering since there is a way to chanJuly 8, 2019

You only need to change the drivers side but you should change both because the other will go out soon.

Hey, I have a 99 eldorado and I think its similar. For my car, there is one blend door for each side. Theres one right behind the glove box that seems like it would be difficult to access that controls the passenger side, and the one right above the sound panel on the bottom controls the drivers side. I would disconnect that bottom ones metal arm from the actuator and move it back and forth with the AC running, and thatll tell you if thats the one at fault. Best of luck!
