Hi. I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1A Auto.com. The right parts installed correctly. That's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we're going to show you how to remove and replace the third brake light on this Chevy Trailblazer. The tools you will need are a flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver and maybe a pair of pliers as well.
The third brake light is a sealed unit. It can fritz out on you. To replace it open up your tailgate and you can see the lead right here. You pull this little plug out and pull some wire out and there's your connector. What you want to do is pry up on the tab on one side. You can use a little screwdriver. Once you pry, then pull it out. Maybe what you want to do is pull up on here at the same time lift up your tailgate some and pull this wire through.
Right here it does go through a little clip. Get a pair of needle nose pliers and maybe a screwdriver to pull that clip off. Push in the round part of the harness right through there and just pull it right through. Now there's two screws in here. One over here. They are Phillips screws. Clip over here and there's your old light out. The new light from 1A Auto is the exact same. Take the protective film off and put it right up and in. You want to make sure it goes into this slot here first. Push it up and in. Put the wire through this retainer. Force it in. Put in your two screws. Now what you want to do is put this through. Bring the window down a little bit and stuff this rubber grommet in some. All right so we've got this stuffed most of the way there now. Bring it up and pull our lead through all the way. Take our clip and put it back in place. Connect our lead. Put it down and in. Push the rest of the wire in. Install the rubber grommet and we're all set.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the third brake light on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. It's the same part and similar process on the regular Envoys made after 2002. The items you'll need are a new third brake light from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver.
Lift up your lift gate and pull on this grommet. Then, just keep pulling the harness out until you can get to the connector. Using a flat blade screwdriver, pry out on the tab and disconnect the harness. Now, open up the glass and remove these three Phillips screws. We'll just fast forward as Mike does that. Then, just pull the grommet and the harness up through this slot. Then, unclip it, and then just pull the third brake light down and out.
Up top, is the old third brake light. Below it, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Feed your new brake light up into place, and then replace those three Phillips screws. Now lift up your lift gate with the glass still open, and then just feed the harness down through the slot. Once you get it going, just open up your lift gate and pull it down and through the rest of the way. Make sure that it's on the right side of the hinge. Then, reconnect the harness and feed it back down into the hole and push the grommet back into place. Now, just test it out. You can see it works, so you're all set.
