Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you the basics of doing an air door actuator on this vehicle. It's a 2006 Chevy Impala. We found it impossible to video it, so the best we can do is show you exactly where it is and where the bolts are. You'll need a small socket and ratchet set.
Once you know where it is, it's pretty easy. There are two bolts, and you unplug it and then replug it in.
On this Impala, you bring your glove box down and take out anything that might fall out.
Then you push the back of the glove box down, or actually push that part up. The glove box comes down further. Then right back in here, you can see.
Here's the air door actuator. There are two bolts that hold it in place. You would need to undo those bolts with a socket and ratchet, remove it and reinstall it.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.

Items arrived on time and as expected. They were a cheap fix for a big problem, and allowed me to have my wife's air conditioner running again before the weather called for it. Being able to get the pair of them for just a little more than a single allow me to ensure I won't have to take dash apart to fix the other side next week. Great deal.
Problem fixed!

Perfect fit after I got it on. No more clicking noise when I open my car door. I have yet to check it with the ac on for any period of time since our weather is much cooler now. It was rather difficult getting on to begin with since there is a wiring harness perfectly in the way. And my hands are small but none the less it seems to work and I did go through all the settings for heat and ac. I did order an extension to put on my drill so my hand doesn't twist like a pretzel in the event it should fail, it should only be a 10 minute job. Btw, this was installed on my 2011 Chev. Impala. Im a 66 year old woman. If I can do it, anyone can. After installation, pull out the 10amp fuse aka 'detail' I waited 2 min. then reinstalled fuse and started the car.It must have recalibrated the actuator because I walked it through all the settings and it still works!

Replacement of blend door actuators in 2008 Impala

Worked perfectly after the install. The installation video was very helpful. Please know that in an 2008 Impala, the passenger side actuator takes ten minutes to install but the driver's side is more difficult with more steps. The driver's side requires removing a couple of under-dash panels and working by feel instead of sight to remove and install the actuator. It took about an hour to complete the driver's side. All in all, I am pleased with this purchase.

I own a 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo LT with 100,000 mi on it the blend door actuator start making a tapping clicking noise when I turn off the car or when I change the setting on the AC unit I ordered the two actuators they're both the same, and it was a pretty simple process to put in in my case now it works perfect you can't go wrong with A1 Auto parts
Won't order again

A car I had recently purchased (09 Chevy Impala) was having an issue with both actuators being bad and making a clicking noise, at first on the drivers side and then on the passenger side. The dealership wanted $95 each for just the part. Ordered from 1A Auto and the parts came fast and were the correct ones for the vehicle. 45 minutes later both were replaced and the clicking noise had stopped! Passenger side was done in the first 5 minutes while the driver side was a little bit difficult to get to since I'm a pretty big guy, but it was doable!

Blend door actuator was an exact match and very easy to install after viewing 1A's video. The quality of the part was excellent and priced very reasonable. Got 2 so I have one for the next time.
Customer Q&A
Is there any special trick in putting it on? Or can I safely move the plastic white piece sticking out in a position to match the position of the hole in the new one? Also do I need to disconnect the battery and for how long? Thank you.September 4, 2021

I'm not sure what you're driving. I have a 2007 Impala, and that was a royal pain. The passenger side involved only moving the glove compartment down and out. But the driver's side meant removing a number of plastic covers, plus a couple of screws and wires. I went on YouTube and found three or four really informative instructional videos. I would suggest you doing the same for your model/year. Hope that helps.

Not sure what you're driving, but I have a 2007 Impala and they are identical. I haven't heard of any models being different. Hope this helps.
