Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you the basics of doing an air door actuator on this vehicle. It's a 2006 Chevy Impala. We found it impossible to video it, so the best we can do is show you exactly where it is and where the bolts are. You'll need a small socket and ratchet set.
Once you know where it is, it's pretty easy. There are two bolts, and you unplug it and then replug it in.
On this Impala, you bring your glove box down and take out anything that might fall out.
Then you push the back of the glove box down, or actually push that part up. The glove box comes down further. Then right back in here, you can see.
Here's the air door actuator. There are two bolts that hold it in place. You would need to undo those bolts with a socket and ratchet, remove it and reinstall it.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.

Well the truth be told I am proud to say that I have been ordering parts from A-! Auto for years now and have been highly satified with the Auto parts I have ordered from shocks ,brakes, rotors clinders ,and many more, I have to say I am 79 years old now , I am not a mechanic, no training ,What gave me confidence to make the repairs was the video,s , I would of never even think of changing shocks and struts without the videos. They are a game changer..I would recommend A-1 Auto, which I have many times over..Thank you.

Part arrived on time and just as I ordered. The infamous clicking noise in the dash of my Impala. Friends who were on the phone with me during an episode would swear I was in the middle of a fire fight. After watching the video by the great folks at 1a-Auto It was only a matter of minutes before the enemy was silenced. Thanks for the back-up 1A, if I know my Impala, and I do, Ill be making several more calls to do battle with the stragglers behind the dash

I bought 2 of these items and was supposed to by 3
I found out how to fix these on YouTube -
This was a very difficult part to replace -
It took me 3 hours to replace all 3 parts -
And it works perfect - no more annoying clicking noise for 3 minutes every time you start the car..or when you mess with the heater -
less than $100 in parts and doing it myself saved me an incredible amount of money.
The Chevy dealer gave me an estimate of $1500.00

It sounded like a wood pecker behind the glove box. I opened it up to see what actuator was bad I have two behind there, one on the right and one on the left. They are both the same. While while the pecking was going on put my hand on them, the one on the left was vibrating. So I changed that one with the new part from 1A Auto. It cured the problem. Happy wife.

Customer Q&A
what size socket for the bolts?February 8, 2017
John B

I don't have the exact socket size for the bolts. Our parts are designed to be exact replacements for what came with the vehicle, so as long as your year, make, and model match up with our listing, these will definitely fit and function just like the original, and require the OE mounting hardware. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

If you have three of these actuators in your vehicle and they are all bad, we suggest replacing all three.
