Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the A/C or the air conditioning and heater fan blower motor. A lot of times when they go bad on these cars, you'll start hearing the fan groaning or making a higher pitched squealing noise as you increase the speed of the fan. This is a 2006 Impala. It's pretty much the same procedure for any 2006 to 2012. The only tools you'll need are a 7/32 inch socket with a ratchet as well as a small flat-blade screwdriver.
We're working up under the glove box. There are small clips. You pry the middle of the clip out. You can pry it out with the screwdriver, and then, there are two more on the other side. Fast forward as we get those two out. Then the panel comes down and you just twist counter-clockwise on the light and pull it out.
Three 7/32 inch bolts hold the blower motor in and we use a 7/32 inch socket and a ratchet to remove those three bolts. Once the bolts are out, then the motor comes down and you just push on a little tab to disconnect the lead.
Reinstallation is the reverse of the procedure. Put the motor up in, make sure that the holes are lined up and then start your 7/32 inch bolts first by hand. Make sure you get them in, that you don't cross thread them. Then obviously, you tighten them up. Tighten them up nice and firm, careful not to make them too tight. You don't want to strip the plastic holes where the bolts go in. Reconnect the lead; make sure it snaps into place. Put the light back in, twist clockwise to lock. Then we'll speed up as we put the panel back in and the three clips that hold it.

Thanks for the video. Took all the guess work out and saved me some money. Easy installation and wow, the new blower really puts out the air. We had forgotten just how much the blower was suppose to blow out the vents. Thank you.
Whiny noise at start up.

It was difficult to get it in position. Once in, I did not want to over tighten. It does make a "whiny " noise on start up but goes away.
