If you have a chevy cruze and your thermostat housing is leaking more than likely its deteriorated and thermostat is apart inside because plastic broke and the oring isn't holding. Great replacement instead of the junk plastic. Thanks for selling a great part!
I'm not completely certain but within 2 days of having this thermostat it went bad and I had to replace it with a oem style as I have found many have failed due to poor tolerance on temperature control
Aluminum house is much better than a Chevy plastic housing, grade a product!! Hopefully I don't have to purchase again, lol but would do so for a different vehicle.
Received both the Aluminum Thermostat Housing Assembly and the Aluminum Water Bypass Assembly in a short amount of time. Well boxed and double packed. My grandaughters 2015 Chevy Trax was having overheating issues after the original plastic bypass broke and the upper radiator hose blew off. We bought the vehicle used in May of 2024. Had to replace the thermostat /temperature sensor anyway so went with aluminum one which was 1/2 the price of the OEM Plastic one. Also replaced pressure cap with OEM 15 psi RC-118, GM 13502354 with no problems.
Better quality than the oem plastic housing. Its been on a couple weeks. No leaks and holding up fine.
GM could have made this to begin with. It's hard to express the agony that us car owners go through with stupid engineering mistakes. There are so many in the chevy Cruze no matter what year it is.
Perfect fit on my car
It's been about two weeks and everything has been working great. Have to say that it's definitely an upgrade over the cheap plastic parts that GM uses for its vehicles. Given the poor choices and quality of parts used when engineering the chevy cruze, I opted to replace with aluminum. In fact, I also bought the aluminum water outlet from this site as well. Kid you not, everything plastic on my 1.4L turbo engine was cracked (coolant reservoir, oil feed line, thermostat, water outlet, etc). Unfortunately it's cheaper to fix and replace in today's economy. I very much appreciate the helpful video installs that 1a auto supplies with its products? top notch. If you want better quality, buy this.
Water pump worked well without any problems installing.
