The rear glass struts aren't used that often, so sometimes they don't go back, or sometimes because they're never used and they go bad. Generally, you want somebody to hold up and small right-angle pick and work under the clip here. Usually it's best to just pull the clip right off, and the strut comes off, and then the same thing at the top. Pull on the strut while you remove the clip and it comes off.
Here are the original worn out ones from the vehicle and the new ones from 1A Auto. It's exactly the same, just no optional dirt, and they're going to go on to fit and function the same and this you can use for both. You never know which one's bad, so it's always a good idea just to replace these in pairs.
To reinstall, have someone help hold up, push on, and you may have to twist them. Do the same thing on the other side. Make sure it's on there tight. Lift up and down and lock the other one in place. Now, if your glass is sagging or not supported well, you fix the problem, and the glass you always want to put it down lightly and then just press firmly on that handle.

On each end there's a little clip. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver and pry the clip as you pull, and as you do this, you can't see it on camera, but I have somebody helping by holding the tailgate, and obviously if your tailgate's not staying up you'll have someone holding it. Pry out on the clip, if need be you can carefully just take the whole clip off, and it comes off. Then at the top there's the same thing, push your screwdriver in, pry out on the clip, and bring it off.
Here are the new support struts from 1A Auto, and here's your original ones. New ones are just like the original. You can see the original have an angled bottom, and the new ones from 1A Auto are exactly the same. They're going to go in, mount, and function, exactly the same.
For reinstallation, you'll need to lift up really hard on your tailgate, and again, it’s always good to have a person help you. They just clip on the top, I'm going to twist them, and just kind of let your tailgate down if you have to. Put it on the bottom, and do the same thing over here. Clip on the top, twist, and make sure that they're supporting.

Great price, easy install, work perfectly. No more lifting the glass to open. These lifts do the work even slowing the raise rate as it approaches fully open.
