On my GMC once I got wheel off I could see my sensor wire was frayed from wheel rubbing on it. My ABS light was on until I changed the harness. Then drove truck down the street ABS light reset itself. You might want to check to see if yours wires are rubbing.

Hello Josh, What vehicle are you working on. I've replaced wheel sensors on my ford and gmc. I replaced both sensors each time and had no issues afterwards. You would need to put the new sensor on both sides while other side has original sensor to see if errors were corrected. Unless you got lucky on first try and all errors went away. The time to do this is worth just replacing both. Not hard job for even the most novice mechanics.

You need to read the OBD code in the computer. In my case I borrowed a computer at Advance auto. You plug it in under the dash to the left of the steering wheel. If the diag computer you use is capable of reading ABS errors it will tell you which wheel sensor is the problem or if it is something else. In my case I had c0041 right front wheel speed sensor error. A new sensor and cleaning the metal with sandpaper where it attaches to the hub fixed my issue. Yours could be different. You need to read the diag code in computer for ABS error. Not sure about parking brake but probably the same.

Technically no, but it can be difficult to determine which sensor is defective. At $30 each, replace them both and save the headache.

Hello, my service stability trac system light is on , could this be caused by one of the speed sensors?
