Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a side mirror on this 1996 Chevy Tahoe. We show you on the driver's side but the passenger's side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this include new side mirrors from 1AAuto.com, a 10mm socket and ratchet with an extension and a flat blade screwdriver.
Start off by prying off this triangular panel. Then remove this foam. Using a flat blade screwdriver, just pry back on that tab and pull the harness free. Then you want to remove this 10mm nut, this 10mm nut, and this 10mm nut. We'll fast-forward as Don removes the three of those. Then pull your mirror free.
Up front is the old mirror, behind it is the new one from 1AAuto. You can see they're identical, and they're going to mount exactly the same. Feed your harness back into the door. Then push those studs through the door. Then replace those three 10mm nuts. You'll see he puts them into the socket, feeds them onto the stud, tightens those preliminary, does each of them, and then tightens them all up. Now, reconnect your harness. Reinsert that foam, and then push that triangular panel back into place. You're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.

These mirrors looked great right out of the box and we'll packaged. I did have an issue with the driver side mirror a few days after installation. I realized there seemed to be a little distortion in the glass. I called customer service and they sent me another one ASAP with return label. So far so good!

Good Mirrors, Good fit.
I use my side mirrors more often than the main rear-view mirror, simply because I end up with a lot of gear in the back. These are a perfect fit, installed quickly, look good, and the adjustment motors work just fine. These come recommended to anyone replacing the mirrors or whose adjustment motors are getting quirky. Yes, if these get damaged, I would buy them again.

Shipping was fast and parts were protected from damages
Mirrors are exact style and fit the same as original ones did. Anyone with mechanical skills and the right tools shouldn't have any difficulties. Driver side mirrors glass does shake as others say in their own reviews but all and all they both look and work great.

Exactly what I needed
I was replacing 30 year old mirrors that have been hit a few times. These matched perfectly and were very good quality. No shaking in the mirrors at speed. Just had to cut a small slit in the rubber gaskets as the hole for the connection wire didn't line up but no big deal. Hardware looks solid and was zinc coated, should last another 30

Im curious about the base, is it metal or plastic as well?? The factory ones were metal
These mirrors have a plastic base. Plastic offers a good balance of durability, weight savings, and resistance to corrosion.

The placement of the pins may be different, and the entire size of connector could differ as well.
