Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the parking light on this 2005 GMC Savana 2500. It's the same process on the GMC Savanas and the Chevy Expresses from 2003 to 2012. The only tool you'll need is a flat blade screwdriver.
First what you want to do is you want to go over to the side. There's a clip that lock it into the grill of the vehicle, just push in with the flat blade screwdriver and push the light out releasing that clip. Then you just pull the light away from the vehicle. You can see there's a clip right there on the side.
Now if you're just looking to change the bulbs you just twist the socket, pull the socket out, and then the bulb just pulls straight out. You'd push your new one in and twist the socket back into place. You do the same thing with the smaller light. Pull it out, push the new bulb in, twist the socket back into the light.
Now if you're looking to disconnect the entire assembly because you have a new light, maybe this one's cracked or damaged, you would just pull the tab on those harnesses and release them. Then you would put those sockets into a new light.
To reinstall you just push the harnesses into the light, line the clip up, push it in, and then you push in that outside clip. You're all set.
