Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20+ years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1aauto.com. The right parts installed correctly, that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we will be showing you how to replace the side view mirror on this 2003 Yukon. Pretty much the same for any 2000 to 2003 GM SUV, Yukon, Tahoe, or Suburban. Also, '99 to '03 Chevy or GMC Truck. The only tool you will need is a 10 mm socket with a ratchet and extension.
We are replacing the mirror on this '03 Yukon. It has the short harness, which means you don't have to take the door panel off so it's actually really easy. Just carefully work your hand in behind, gently pull on this corner trim. There's just two clips right here. Pull this insulation out. Here's your harness. Pull it down and there's your connection right there, which if you pry up with your thumb here and then pull and undo the connector and then it's three 10 mm bolts. You need a socket and ratchet. You probably could use a wrench too. They're pretty accessible. You definitely don't need this long of an extension, it just kind of happened to be the first one I grabbed. Unbolt it. Be careful as you're working these bolts or these nuts off as you don't want to drop them down into the door.
As I take this last one off I'm going to support this mirror because I don't really want broken glass all over my garage. This is actually the old clip here that holds it. Pull the mirror off. You can see this one was damaged. A 1A Auto mirror looks exactly the same. This truck happens to be black so the black is going to match. If you wanted to match it to your truck, if your truck is red or blue or whatever, what you can do is you can either get like a matching of ... a pretty good matching can of spray paint. Or, if you're particular, you can go to an automotive part store that has a paint department. They can use your vin or your color code, match the paint, mix some paint for you, put it into an air-charged can, and you can repaint this yourself.
Our mirror doesn't have that little clip. Some people call them bolts. The original ones will work so I'm going to use those. It's not like the nice, big washers. So we are going to put this on. Taking the bolts it came with off. Put it right in. Get the studs to come through. Push it on the outside. It looks good. Careful with these bolts, make sure you don't drop them into the door. This is probably the most awkward one here.
Now when you tighten these, you want to get it nice and snug but you don't want to be crazy tight. This is a plastic mirror so you don't want to break the base or anything. Okay, plug in the plug there. Put it up in there. Put the insulation back in. Do a little test and it's on good. The car's got tail light. Tail light's working. Okay, we are in good shape.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a side mirror on this 2002 Chevy Suburban. We'll show you on the driver's side, but the passenger's side is a similar procedure. It's the same part and similar process on these Suburbans from 2000 to 2006. The items you'll need for this include a new side mirror from 1AAuto.com and a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Start off by prying off this triangular panel, then remove the insulation foam, pry off on this tab, and just pull this harness free. Remove these three 10mm nuts. Now push in these tabs on the center and just pull the mirror out.
On the right is the old side mirror; on the left is the new one from 1A Auto. If the cap on the back of your old mirror is still intact, you can take that off and put it onto your new mirror, or you can take the cap with your new mirror to an auto-parts store in the paint department, get the matching paint, and spray paint it to match. At 1A Auto, we also offer tow mirrors which will mount exactly the same as the regular mirrors with no additional brackets needed.
Then pry off the cap if you're going to replace your cap. You just want to pry from the top a little bit until you can get your hand back underneath it and then just pull out. Now, to put these caps into place on your mirror, you just line up those tabs and push it straight into place. Take your new mirror and feed the harness back through the door and push those studs into place.
Once you get those center tabs lined up, just push the mirror straight in and then replace those three 10 mm nuts. Reconnect your harness, tuck it back into the door, replace that foam, and then replace that triangular panel. Just push the bottom in first, line up the tabs, and push it back into place. Just to show you what the tow mirrors look like, this is from the front, here's from the back.

The mirror was a perfect match for my truck. Old one off and new one back on in less than 15 minutes. I would highly recommend. Cost was less than 50% of what the dealership quoted.
Look good
