You'll need a Phillip screwdriver, which is the one with the four-point tip. Open up your tailgate. There are two Phillips screws that hold the tail light in place. Remove those. The harness connects in at the bottom at the corner. Press the little tab here. There’s always a little bit extra sand and stuff in here. Disconnect it. And then there are two pins on the side, so if you just shake it a little bit, work your fingers in under here, and then pull the light straight out. Pull your light up and the harness out. The original light from our Suburban and actually there's nothing wrong, but a lot of times you back into something and you break the light or somebody accidentally sticks a two by four in it or something like that.
The new light from 1A Auto, see it's exactly the same as the original. Obviously it’s a nicer, newer shape. Do this if you just want to make your car look a little fresher. On the back side, everything's exactly the same. The sockets are little bit different, but everything's going to bolt in, install, and function just like your original. The original connector and new connector are exactly the same.
Sometimes these plastic grommets will break, so you can use the new ones or just take them off. Slide the harness down in, put the light in place. Make sure the pins go into the body plugs and reinstall your two screws. Underneath, let's just clean some of that dirt off of the old connector. The new connector plugs right in.
