Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Okay. In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the power-door lock actuator. We show you the driver's side sliding door. The procedure is basically the same for the passenger's side sliding door, as well, and it's a pretty basic and straightforward procedure. The only tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver and a T-15 Torx driver.
Okay, start right up here. Pull this out like that. Now there's a Phillips screw right in this little cup here. Remove that. Now give a good pull. All right. Try and work your way down. The back side might be easier first. Okay. Push it back in a little bit. Open the door. Then the front side and the bottom. Okay, lift it up off your lock and then bring it out. Okay. Now carefully pull your water shield back. There is a bracket there that there's some perforations in the shield. You can tear the perforations and pull it back. Otherwise, you could remove the whole bracket. But pull that back so you can access the inside of the door.
Once you're inside, kind of pull this right out. Here's your door-lock actuator. You follow this rod back and you'll see a little clip. You want to push the clip off and slide that rod out. Now there's a T15 screw right here. Remove that screw, and be very careful when you remove the screw. Try not to drop it down in the door. They're almost impossible to retrieve. If you do drop it, any small screw will do for a replacement. I've got a magnetic tip here to help me get this screw out. And your actuator comes out. Your harness clips on right here. Just press and disconnect.
Okay. Our new actuator from 1A Auto, it actually fits both sides. The green side is for the passenger side. We'll undo this little Phillips screw here. Take this arm carefully off, and it comes with a clear arm with a red clip. There's a little tab right here. Line that up with the arrow. Okay. Now, put the screw back in. Tighten that up. Okay. Now you just have to make sure that when you put this in here and you can feel back in there there's a little nub. Okay, in this shot here, we show you that's the little shaft inside the door that the slot on the actuator should go onto. Okay. Make sure this goes right on there, and then you can kind of slide it down into place. Okay. It slides right into place Okay, that holds it in place. Plug in our connection, and then put our arm back in, and lock that clip on.
Okay, I'm here. I'm just turning the key on so I can do a quick test, and you'll hear the horn beep when you lock it. You just want to make sure you're not locking yourself out. Okay, put the little sound-ending block back in and then carefully put your water shield back in place. Okay. Now to reinstall the panel, first you want to make sure you pull up on the little top piece of trim and slide the door panel in behind it. I didn't film that very well. Make sure your door-lock now comes through. Kind of make sure it feels like the pins are in their right spots.
You can pull this cup out. Peek in behind, and there's a pin right there. Once you have those two started okay then all the other ones pretty much are right in line. And then, right up here, put this back together. Okay, pull this out. Lock it into place. Okay, put this cup back in place, and put your Phillips screw back in.

I order this part a little over a year ago and already have had to replace both side THREE TIMES! When I replaced the part the first time, I took apart the old one, and saw that the plastic gear binds on one end where the gear teeth meets the metal electric motor gear. I just had to get a replacement actuator in June 2018 to replace Another failed one, but NOW that new one is starting to fail. Looking at the insides of the last six actuator that I HAD to replace, all had the same problem; "Plastic Gear grinds on one end of gear teeth!!!!". Just send me a hand full of plastic gears to just replace the damage ones!!!
Had a college Mechanic instructor check out the part and he told me that the plastic gear is slightly to small for the part, that's why it binds. He even check out the doors that the actuator fits in to see if something was causing it to bind up, but nothing, everything worked smoothly! It really wouldn't be that big of a deal, but when the part fails, it won't let me unloc

Fast shipping, best price around, lifetime warranty. These DO fit the 5th generation Grand Caravans. I put them on my 2016. Not an easy job, check out youtube for a good video. My locks were buzzing loudly when actuated. Yes, the door locks on my 2016 are broken already. I blame the kids, but that's another story... I disassembled the old ones when I got them out and found the culprit to be a stripped plastic gear. The reason this part (1ADLA00087 individually or 1ADRK00120 for the pair) is only listed up to the 2007 models is because of the vehicle manufacturer. FCA wants you to replace the entire assembly (rear latch/closing motor/child lock and lock actuator) when any one of the sub-components breaks.

These locks did just the trick for my 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. However, two good things to know:
First, the 1AAuto Youtube video was great in it's description of replacement of the driver side lock. But in order to install the alternate arm, you need a no. 8 torx head driver. It appeared in the video he just used a screwdriver. Maybe they changed the part since the video was made? I don't know.
Second, the passenger side is different and required partial removal of the entire lock assembly. Removal was easy (3 screws). But getting it back in by myself was very difficult. Get a helper!
worked like a charm

No instructions, but installation was quick and straightforward. May have to drill hole in metal door panel to get to actuator retainer screw. Recommend door trim removal tool. Installation video was most helpfull.

I thought I wrote one earlier, but I will do it again. I rate it 5 stars cause of the easy of ordering and the delivery time. The video on doing the driver side sliding door was great, but you need to do one for the passenger side due to needing to remove the door latch to install since Chrysler never put a hole to access the holding screw for the actuator.
Good quality for a good price

These were the most inexpensive actuators I could find and I am very happy with them. They have been working great since I installed them a couple weeks ago. If you want to replace your lock actuators and dont want to spend the extra money for OEM, this is the way to go.
