In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the EGR valve on this 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. This particular part is actually used in a large variety of GM models. The only tool you're going to need for this is a 10 millimeter socket and ratchet with an extension.
Here's the EGR valve and you're just going to want to remove these two 10 millimeter bolts on either side of it and we'll just fast forward as he removes those bolts. Just lift the EGR valve up and off and then lift the tab on the lead and pull it free.
Here is our old EGR valve and the new one from 1AAuto. Now, you just want to put that gasket down into place and put your EGR valve into place and you just want to replace those two 10 millimeter bolts. You can see he starts them off by hand and then he's going to use the socket to tighten the rest of the way. We'll just fast forward as he does that. Now you want to reconnect your lead.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the EGR valve on this 1996 Chevy Tahoe with the 5.7-liter V8 engine. It's the same part and process on these Tahoes from 1996 to 2002. The items you'll need for this include a new EGR valve from 1AAuto.com and a 10mm socket and ratchet with an extension.
Your EGR valve is located right here. You want to just pry up on that tab and pull the harness free. Then remove these two 10mm bolts. We'll just fast-forward as Don does that. Now pull the EGR valve up and out.
There is a gasket here but if you have trouble removing it, just leave it on there. On the right is the old EGR valve; on the left is the new one from 1A Auto with a new gasket. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same.
To keep your gasket from falling off, just use some small pieces of tape to tape it on there. Now lower your EGR valve down into place, and replace those two 10mm bolts and tighten them up. Then reconnect the harness, and you're all set.
