The right parts installed correctly: that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we'll be replacing the hood support struts on this '98 Explorer, same as any '95 to '01. It's a pretty easy operation. You only need a small, regular screwdriver.
If you get a drooping hood, you're probably familiar with the old wooden broom stick or stake, or whatever you use to hold up the hood, but I'm going to show you, this is a really easy repair, so you don't need to be doing that. Here's your hood strut and what you do is you just pull off this clip on top. Actually pull off the one on the bottom as well, and then lift up the hood and you just pull the strut right off. The new strut has two different ends. The smaller end goes on the smaller socket down here and the larger end for the larger socket, lift up the hood and you're on. Then you can take your piece of wood out of the way. Generally you want to replace them in pairs and it's the same procedure for the other side.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.
