How do I find out what size bolt pattern idler arm I needs or my 2001 f150?

I can turn a wrench as well as any backyard mechanic, but have actually never done front end work before. Once this is all installed do I need to have an alignment done?

Yes you do. Measure your old linkages, preset your new ones to those measurements. That should get you close enough to drive to shop for alignment.

I would also like to get the lower control arm. How much will it be if thats included with the kit?

First of all, I somehow ordered the wrong set to begin with. I am 100% positive my truck is a 2006 and I order things all the time online. Somehow the set for 2001 was shipped and I had to return it on my dime...so I started off $50 or more in the hole and not too happy. Nothing I could do about it and 1aauto surely wasn't going to help even though I believe it is their system that messed up and ordered the wrong parts. I have installed everything and it fit the way it is supposed to, but the steering still seems a little "loose". I am mechanically inclined and have done lots of work on cars and trucks. Just to be safe, you might want to consider ordering elsewhere. It's cheap...but it could also be cheap.... If you get my drift.

2001 F150 "Ole Squeaky"

I replaced the bushings with the kit and it totally stopped the irritating noises. Very happy with the product and it was a perfect fit, took about a full day for a beginner. Local auto store has the bushing repair tools to borrow so I saved hundreds doing it myself. I was very impressed with the delivery it came days before estimated. Now I drive in "Stealth mode".
